At least your cylinder 1 spark plug didn't look like mine when I pulled it. The engine was fine, can't say so much for the turbo which died 9 months later.

Always remember to check torque specs.

Just to give another data point.

2.3, catch can almost the entire life of the engine. 50k miles. I went ahead and changed out the plugs since I got a bit of a discount on them from the Lethal Spring Sale.

All 4 of mine looked like @PWillette good three. Used the NGK Step Colder plugs, it does seem to idle smoother, but I can't really tell if there is any more power or anything.

Finally had some time to give the PPM a proper test drive this weekend. As @Brian_B mentioned, idle feels much smoother with the one-step colder plugs.

I can't say that the PPM produced an extra 20hp as advertised but you can certainly feel/see the difference. Boost comes in much sooner and I did see +21psi. In Sport mode, map-6, 2nd and 3rd gear are a frigin riot...the little 2.3 sending a 5,500lb brick on 37s down the road at a high rate of speed makes me giggle. I did not see a noticeable difference between Sport mode and Race mode.

The PPM doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the JB4 or Procal and I'm not really sure if it will provide any benefits on the trail but sure is a fun little gadget.
