This is for the MIC recall and not available as a service part. The recall has you swap over all of the the side and rear glass but all of the top panels do come in the crate with the cap. This will likely be what a "kit" looks like as an accessory. Still need the wiper stuff and glass but the major components will probably be in one box. The crates are huge and will go truck line. Not sure if this will be something Ford will force onto the FADs to stock and ship or will come from a PDC directly to the dealer.

This is nothing new. Building your own Bronco piece by piece would be at least 150k.

It's a $695.00 increase above the soft top, not just $695. So you'd need to add the cost of the soft top and the MIC.

But, Holy Sheit 15K!!

Sound like they just didn't want to order one, did they give you a part number?

It was around $1800 IN ADDITION to the softtop, a price I would not mind paying Ford for the painted modular top I originally ordered. I would even drive Bucky back to MAP to have it "factory" installed

I posted this last December

Went by the local dealer yesterday, and asked the parts department to look up the cost of a replacement 4 door MIC hard top. They came back with a sheet that included all accessories and it was $16K......the front panels alone were 2400 each , and the main top 4600. I said, "so the $695 option, is 16K if not a factory install"? they agreed, I just shook my head, laughed turned around and walked out...

Had a wild hair this morning on the way to work and decided to inquire with dealership I bought my Bronco from about ordering a hardtop. After all it’s only $695 on the B&P.

Service manager directed me to the parts dept. Very nice guy spent about 15 minutes banging his keyboard and asking questions. Sounded like he had it down, “three piece hardtop, seals” Yep Yep…

Says “ I can get everything except the third piece of the hardtop, back ordered till June.”

I was like uhhhh yeah not a problem. How much this gonna cost?

“Out the door, your looking at $15,xxx!” I was like you mean $1500. Nope $15k.

Can’t say it’s surprising but holy shit Batman ! This one takes the cake. My wavy window soft too will have to do.

I went to change some stuff in my order this last weekend and was told that it actually went up to 17k! So a little bit worse!

My plan: wait. Swap OEM for Bestop when it wears out if I need to. Around that 3-5 year mark is when my kids are older and can tolerate longer adventures that necessitate a roof rack.

So glad i didnt switch to the soft top, I thought about it too. And since I waited for the MIC I kept the towing package too. It was a blessing in disguise

my wife would kill me if I told her I got the soft top but I’m gonna only spend $4,000-10,000 on the hard top down the road.
