Had a wild hair this morning on the way to work and decided to inquire with dealership I bought my Bronco from about ordering a hardtop. After all it’s only $695 on the B&P.

Service manager directed me to the parts dept. Very nice guy spent about 15 minutes banging his keyboard and asking questions. Sounded like he had it down, “three piece hardtop, seals” Yep Yep…

Says “ I can get everything except the third piece of the hardtop, back ordered till June.”

I was like uhhhh yeah not a problem. How much this gonna cost?

“Out the door, your looking at $15,xxx!” I was like you mean $1500. Nope $15k.

Sorry to waste your time sir…

Can’t say it’s surprising but holy shit Batman ! This one takes the cake. My wavy window soft too will have to do.

There was a thread on here recently detailing the numerous individual components of the hard top that dealers and body shops could order separately. While you COULD assemble them all into a final hardtop, going that route via a-la carte part pricing will yield a ridiculous number like the one you were quoted. At least that was the gist I got from previous discussions, I could be incorrect though.

Dealership told me it would be $10K plus to get one after the fact. so not surprised

It's a $695.00 increase above the soft top, not just $695. So you'd need to add the cost of the soft top and the MIC.

But, Holy Sheit 15K!!

Sound like they just didn't want to order one, did they give you a part number?

You're remembering correctly. A dealer here (@flip ) did the full swap as a learning exercise and his cost was over 9 grand so $15k retail sounds right. The hope is Ford puts a kit together which would have more reasonable pricing, though it's not likely to be any cheaper than the Advanced Fiberglass option.

I think some here also pieced together the HD bumper and it came to around $3k.

For those that deleted hard top to speed up the process, this is sad. However, I am loving the soft top for summer.

Winter soft top makes me sad, but it’s summer now and our time to shine boys!

Yeah I switched to a soft top thinking the same thing, $695 add on for the Hard Top, so, worst case scenario we're looking at $3500 or so retail?

Honestly, i think the current price of Hard Tops reflect their value to Ford. Any hard top sold as an accessory right now means one less Bronco passing down the assembly line.

I fully expect these prices to come back down to earth once production catches up in 2025.

However, since I am 100% in love with my soft top, I'd sooner buy a nice, paintable hard top aftermarket than pay anything for that popping, cracking, creaking MIC top Ford is putting out that is going to look like poo poo after a couple years of sun fade. Ford forcing me to switch to a soft top ended up being a blessing in disguise.

that dealer is "bullshit city ford inc"

although preorders adv is making them for 6-6500 + 700 shipped. in colors. most likely better quality. your option of modular or not.

2021-2022 Ford Bronco Hardtop - Advanced Fiberglass Concepts (advfiberglass.com)

ford can do it cheaper. way cheaper. and they have the supply chain and shipping to back it. i think a forum estimate was 5~, and i bet that is right once constraints start leveling off in a year.
