  1. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

I wonder what 10th gear will get to in 4L?
  2. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

And I appreciate it! But apparently I’m not smart enough to reach for it.
  3. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

Yep I get it now, that’s a connection I hadn’t made before. But it makes perfect sense, thanks for that.
  4. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

80 series cruisers are full time 4H with a big lever to switch to low range, and some have electronic front and rear lockers. Pretty low tech setup that works incredibly well. I should mention that the center locker is only engaged when you either switch the transfer case to low, or you make a...
  5. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

After buying the Bronco, how about a party hat and a kazoo?
  6. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

Oh I’ll admit it, definitely learned something here! And it’s fun reading all the comments. All good.
  7. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

    Don’t worry, you’re not worthy.
  8. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

    Bite me. šŸ˜Ž
  9. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

This is the first Ford I’ve ever owned so it’s different for me. Most 4wd vehicles I know can be driven in 4H without binding. Having a separate 4A is different.
  10. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

Ok ok it makes perfect sense. I knew about 4H vs 4A, just didn't think about it at the time. I come from a Land Cruiser which is full time 4wd and this isn't even a consideration...unless you do something stupid like leave the lockers engaged. FWIW I've been doing this a long time, know...
  11. Bronco comes to a full stop by itself

This surprised me. I was in 4H leftover from the weekend camping trip, just hadn't switched it back. Normal mode, just 4H. I went to meet my wife for dinner last night, and was rolling through the parking lot, foot off the throttle. I slowed down a little and started to turn into a parking...

    Georgia Bronco

While it was mostly FS roads (some not maintained in a LONG time), we did get to play a little. On one particular climb/descent (where I got most of the stripes), I used 4L and Trail Control. It is very cool how it works, made going down just super easy. It was also cool to keep the pitch and...

    Georgia Bronco

Yeah I had the same concern. I've got a 250lb torque wrench, but since I'm working on the garage floor, didn't want to go through trying to multiply it with extensions, and maybe break an expensive wrench. I had the dealer tech install them when they were taking care of a couple other things.

    Georgia Bronco

My wife and I took off Friday morning and spent the weekend in the national forest, just needed a little getaway. Nothing crazy, just a couple of the most perfect fall days to spend in the woods. Friday night we were in the Montgomery Creek area, in a really remote place, no traffic at all...

    Georgia Bronco

Those are the skids I installed. Well made. Any reason you’re selling?
  16. Sticker on back window

So does this mean I have hard top number 53,069? Maybe I should leave it there for future value. Yeah right. LOL
  17. 8cam's 2-door Badlands

We are headed out on a long weekend camping trip in the morning and I can’t wait. I’ll say this much, mounting up the old Trasharoo was a lot tougher on the Bronco than on my old Land Cruiser. Since the spare is on the tailgate instead of a swing out, it makes routing the straps a little...
  18. BestTop Sunrider back to Hard top?

I don't really notice any sound difference with the Sunrider. The hard top panels had a little wind noise, but nothing much and easy to carry on a conversation. And the Sunrider seems to me just about the same. The little bit of wind noise even comes from about the same place, at the rear of...
  19. BestTop Sunrider back to Hard top?

Not a chance. As far as I’m concerned the hard top panels are in the garage permanently. I’ve had convertibles in the snow before and the Sunrider is at least as well built as a factory top, if not better. Perfect solution IMO.
  20. What Camper are you towing?

If your wife wants a toilet, things get tougher. I have exactly the same requirement! Done a huge amount of research and these are my finals. If I get my way Escapod Topo 2, my #1 choice (they don’t make the 1 any more) Mean Bean, a real close second Conqueror UEV 490 (big money but wow) But...
