  1. Cracked Windshield due to Pressure/Temp change

That's what I was afraid of. There's a common issue, which is going to be "managed."
  2. Cracked Windshield due to Pressure/Temp change

Thanks, that's good to know about. I've just had a non-impact stress break at 1,300 miles (I picked up a new 23 that had been sitting when I discovered there's no 2-door OBX in 24). This discussion about the root cause has me worried. Does the dealership look for root causes? I'm a bit...
  3. Preload - How is it a thing on SAS Collar lifts?

Yes, the concept of pre-load is greatly exaggerated in forums. Here's a fair and balanced presentation. Viewer discretion is advised :
  4. Thoughts on Body Lifts with the broncos IFS

FYI, the rest of us think it looks great, seriously
  5. POLL: Will 85 Octane Ruin The Bronco?

If you're not putting a lot of mileage on it then you'll want higher octane. Cold-start octane fades rapidly. As others have mentioned, octane is also more important with turbos.
  6. Front Sway bar delete with oem rear

That's interesting, because it seems they're advertising the flex of a disconnect without being completely disconnected.
  7. Suspension Lift or Spacers

On the IFS, you're limited to adding about an inch of downtravel (either via longer-travel struts, or top-hat spacers, but not both). If you do that, then you'll also want to add 1"+ of spring lift. It's ok to have a little bit more uptravel than downtravel, but you don't want a lot more...
  8. Springs & Perch Collars?

Getting all of your lift inside of the strut will decrease downtravel, so you'll lose articulation. IFS is limited in that you can only add an inch of downtravel. That means if you add more than an inch of uptravel, then you're reducing articulation.
  9. Wheels and tires opinions

Could try it for the feel. It might be a small enough difference to get used to it in a couple days?
  10. Wheels and tires opinions

If you're into overlanding, then you probably want to delete the front swaybar to make front and rear travel closer to equal. They'll never be exactly equal, but an overlander wants to improve front travel, even at the expense of rear travel (e.g., extra-firm rear swaybar, and delete front...
  11. Suspension Travel - Stock & Aftermarket

    For the OP's questions : https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/some-stock-suspension-calculations-and-measurements.73917/
  12. Does the Ford Performance 2” lift have rake?

Maybe consider some measure of body lift to fit 37s, so you're not extending the bumpstops too much. IFS travel is a limiting factor for overlanding, so you want to minimize the use of bumpstop extension to fit those 37s. That's why I say use as much body lift as you need (within your...
  13. Do Ford Executives ever read these posts (and do they even care)?

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ This, exactly. He's telling us that we have to lower our expectations and get happy with Fiat 500 -sized EVs. He's telling us it was a "mistake" to build F-150s and other SUVs, because it led us to believe these things are ok. He wants to "educate" us about what we're supposed...
  14. Rock Krawler Suspension coming Triangulated 4 link

So the rear steer is just when flexing off-road? It's better than stock on the road? That's something.
  15. Spacers and now rubbing

Just barely rubbing? Maybe 1" spacers will reduce your scrub radius enough to avoid rubbing? Or at least reduce it to facilitate other minor adjustments.
  16. Anyone use 1” spacers with OBX wheels?

How does it look? Would moving the wheel back just slightly (via high-caster upper control arms) do anything about the rub? I guess another possibility would be to consider removing the front swaybar to make the front and rear travel more equal (if you're into overlanding).
  17. Anyone use 1” spacers with OBX wheels?

Just a heads up, that by increasing scrub radius via spacers, you won't be maximizing tire diameter
  18. Suspension clearance - Overlanding

I always thought of Icon as having one of the longer front suspension travels, so I would be worried about having too much droop up front, which could cause the front CVs to bind (i.e., break). I would suggest checking with Icon to get their thoughts on how much front top-hat spacer is...
  19. Camaro/Audi for Bronco

It's really tricky to advise, because we're guessing about how to rank the priorities. The 4runner could last until the older kid goes off to school, and after that the 2-door would handle your needs. I mention because the 2-door feels sporty. It's just as comfortable as a larger SUV for...
