The best way to think about it is dealer-specific. Dealers all got a certain allocation. Each scheduling period they get some portion of that allocation scheduled.
When ford goes to schedule your dealer's allocations, it will look at the clean orders (those that are available to schedule) and...
As others have mentioned, there has never been a requirement that dealers allow test drives in their mannequins. They can sit in the show room, or be used as service vehicles, or loaners, or test drives, or whatever else they way. They just can't sell them.
Like, if any first day reservation doesn't have a VIN? Or some percentage? And when in the year does that need to be true? After scheduling is done for the whole model year (which runs through the first part of December)?
I don't even know what that means. They're building Broncos right now. They're going to build more Broncos. They aren't going to build as many as any of us want, but this year isn't a "wash."
No doubt. I'm wondering if we're going to start seeing more frequent scheduling for smaller periods. Like weekly or two weeks at a time until they get commodities more squared away.
I'm guessing with the number of previously scheduled 8/16 and 8/23 builds that just received notification about being moved to 8/30, there won't be a lot of new VINs for that week.
Been plenty wrong along the way, and it's also very possible a lot of those moved to 8/30 will get bumped...
No new scheduling since the early June batch. Appears they're going to be cleaning up August builds that got moved back, but September scheduling should happen soon.
Wonder if this was noted on some of the earlier production models and they've added something to the process (pressurized air, some other agitation) to remove a lot of that?
I haven't received an email, but asked for an update from my dealer. I expect to get that update sometime between today and whenever my rig is built.
Have mentally prepared myself to be pushed back again. And am reminding myself that the best approach is to forget the Bronco even exists until...
They'll go all the way down the list (at each dealer for its allocated units, which is an important caveat that often isn't taken into account) to find a buildable Bronco. And if they can't build any of the orders, that's when they'll build a stock unit for that dealer.
You don't even have to go to the dealer to reserve. Just visit here, scroll down to "Review and Reserve" and have at it. Doesn't even matter what trim you select, as you can change it when you order. After your reservation is in you can chat with the dealer with your reservation already in hand...
Yeah, if you make a reservation today your place in line is now. Ordering today would do the same, and wouldn't be any advantage at this point. I'd make the reservation, and then if your dealer encourages you to come in and order now you can have the discussion of when you want it and decide...
Have you already made a reservation? If not, I'd do that now to get yourself in line.
No need to order now if you have a reservation, as MY22 order banks will open this fall and you can make your order then. There may be a bit more clarity at that point around timing, but I doubt a lot.
If you...
