I'm waiting for one that can easily separate into a somewhat rigid front hoop holding a light bar (mounted to the windshield mounting points), rear half (mounted to the clamshell), and front half (connecting between). This should give us all the options we could ever want.
This was my commute into Kamloops this morning. We get upwards of a week in the -20s once or maybe twice a winter down here. I hear it was still only -2 in Victoria though!
The TSB is for starting in ambient temps below 50F so whatever the issue actually is, it's either triggered or significantly exacerbated by colder climate/weather. I'd schedule in at your dealership for sometime in January and hope that you can get yours done.
That sounds like mine when warming up in the last while. Really glad to see this TSB.
ETA video of sound in mine this evening warming up from -2C, taken as soon as it came off of high idle.
I fail to see why revs would need to drop that far to shift. How high do you have it before you shift and how low do you like it when you finish your shift?
I took a 2hr road trip after reading this thread and paid more attention to my shift timing. In general under acceleration I took a little over a second to shift, and in that time my revs dropped a little over 1k. It works out well when you're accelerating to drop you from the mid 3ks to the low...
Nobody needs this vehicle specifically. It's all about wants. This entire premise is irrelevant and has nothing to do with your initial assertion that the other guy should have bought a Bronco Sport.
Yeah... you posted four times in 10 minutes and are claiming that others "can't handle" the back-and-forth. Riiiiight.
And then you're lecturing about the difference between wants and needs on a vehicle that many users buy to go rock crawling? Like really? Let's take a deep breath and zoom out...
Bronco Sport does not have removable doors and roof, front lockers, or a stick just to name a few. Most people who found it to be an acceptable alternative probably got one instead anyways, so we're more than likely having this conversation with people who didn't. These blanket "you should...
I don't have a soft top, but feel the same needs as the people asking for just the chase and front faring for canoe/kayak/etc. transportation with full soft top functionality. @JcrOffroad if you get to v2 with that functionality at any point then I'd suggest integrating a light bar into that...
What is the cost of adding it? Do you ever plan to resell and/or do you live in an area that sees mixed highway conditions? If the answer to the second question outweighs the answer to the first then I'd say it's worth it. Personally I wish I had it in mine, but that would've been a $5k (CAD)...
