  1. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

You can back short distances. Works better on hard pavement, doesn't work well on dirt or gravel surfaces. It's trial and error, you're not really going to hurt anything as long as you stop and don't get it all jacked up.
  2. Jack options?

A bottle jack under the axle. Don't bother lifting from the bumper or frame. Haven't tried the factory jack, but it looks pretty capable.
  3. Seat Cover Recommendations

i just installed Carhartt Precision Fit seat covers. They're a very tight fit, and made of the cotton duck fabric used for Carhartt jackets. This is on a Badlands with the heavy vinyl seats. I did it because the seats get really hot with the sun on them, especially when the front tops are off. I...
  4. Who thinks cargo trailers make good Bronco haulers?

That should work with the Bronco, and other things. Big axles are a really good thing. Too many budget trailers come with 3500 lb axles and those bearings are tiny and problematic. 5200 lb axles or greater is a must. I drove from Bakersfield to Wisconson to pick up my trailer. Saved over $6k in...
  5. Who thinks cargo trailers make good Bronco haulers?

Lower air pressure, and especially changing tires, is a PIA. Get the taller trailer and keep it simple.
  6. Who thinks cargo trailers make good Bronco haulers?

You have to look at door height rather than trailer ceiling height. The spring mechanism on the rear door uses some space above the door. Best to get a 7.5' ceiling trailer for our off road vehicles.
  7. Who thinks cargo trailers make good Bronco haulers?

I have exactly what you described. 8.5x24' enclosed trailer, mine is all aluminum, and has nice cabinets in it. I tow the Jeep, or the rock buggy, or the race car in it, and I will tow the Bronco in it occasionally. I love my enclosed trailer. It's mostly permanently set up with the things I...
  8. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

I didn't look, and don't care. I'd have to hook the Bronco up again to see. No trip planned for a bit. There is no 3rd brake light requirement for a trailer, and I don't think there is one for the license plate light either. I have a couple trailers with no lights on the license plate. The...
  9. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

Agree with above comment. Break in period is for the motor. I towed mine with 500 miles on it.
  10. Super Celebration West - Roll Call

Thought it was a possibility, but won't make it. Would be fun. Coming home from 5 days on Catalina Island on 9-5, just too much to squeeze in. Have fun!
  11. Help me self-squatch my Badlands

Thanks. My wheels are also +18. Think I'll just add the spacer at the bottom of the shock, at the lower A arm and see how it goes.
  12. Help me self-squatch my Badlands

After I put the Raceline wheels on, I thought it needed 35's to look right. But, after a few days it grew on me and I like how it looks with the new wheels and 33's. However, my guys heard me say that and went ahead and ordered a set of 35" Falken Wildpeak A/T's (one of my favorite tires). Now I...
  13. Show 33's some love picture thread

Stock Badlands tires on Raceline wheels.
  14. California bans sale of gas engines by 2035 [*** ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS. TECHNICAL DISCUSSION ONLY ***]

Yes. As far as work goes, there isn't as much to do to maintain EV's from a service and repair side (though to get them to last like an ICE car does, the battery replacement is EXPENSIVE). However, I think we'll be working on all the ICE vehicles to keep them running and running. We're not...
  15. The Brake Upgrade Thread

Just FYI, in Jeeps virtually every time a brake line fails on the trail it's a stainless braided line. They always fail at the connection to the banjo bolt. Suspension flex and snagging on stuff is the cause in most cases, and just fatigue from so much bending while off roading. On Jeeps we...
  16. Help me self-squatch my Badlands

And they could be an upgrade, depending on what you're starting with, and what you're going after. If upgrade only means larger diameter, then from that perspective they are an upgrade. Also, Bilstein is trying to sell shocks. Not knocking them, but I'd want more info than the outfit selling...
  17. Help me self-squatch my Badlands

Sorry, not adamant, just trying to clear up real reasons for wanting to change and why. If we're talking about a non-SAS or non-Badlands then no argument from me. I'm simply trying to point out that there has to be a reason for considering one shock as better than another...it isn't automatic...
  18. California bans sale of gas engines by 2035 [*** ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS. TECHNICAL DISCUSSION ONLY ***]

It's not magic. EV's are getting longer range because they are getting bigger batteries. Bigger batteries mean more manufacturing and transportation of rare earth minerals and plenty of other things to make the batteries. And we don't have a real recycle program for all of that precious metals...
  19. DIY Bronco Raptor 2-Door ?

While there are numerous things that make a good desert truck, the single most important thing is shock valving/tuning. The Raptor is tuned from the factory. Anything to compete with it or make it better must have more shock capability and be tuned to the vehicle. Can be done, but it would need...
