  1. 3” lift making noises - need help

The factory tool has access to everything. Not that they would be willing to do it necessarily. What evidence do you have of what you said? Curious.
  2. 3” lift making noises - need help

Did you try it in 4wd as well as 2wd? Is it a rhythmic ticking, or random? Does it do it on the left side turning both directions or just one direction? Initially I would suspect it's a CV clicking in the axle shaft. Typical click click click when turning.
  3. Steering Caster affected by taller tires (and no other changes)?

Two elements here with just a tire change. Roll center won't change relative to the chassis/body, will only raise relative to the ground since the whole car sits higher. Nearly identical with a change in center of gravity. In the rear the track bar/panhard only affects the roll center, has...
  4. Steering Caster affected by taller tires (and no other changes)?

And center of gravity. Both are raised slightly relative to the ground. Besides a higher center of gravity, the driver will also feel more give in the taller tires. Taller tires are for off road ground clearance, any effect on street handling will be negative. Lift kits also raise the roll...
  5. Steering Caster affected by taller tires (and no other changes)?

Castor, Camber, and toe in adjustment won't change with bigger tires, since nothing in the suspension and knuckle has changed. The scrub radius will change based on wheel offset. The scrub radius is the arc of movement when the tire/wheel/knuckle turns relative to the ball joint. Ball joint is...
  6. 2.3 Focus RS valve Walnut Blasting

Yep, that's what we do at my shop. We'll discuss using the BG product if it's not too bad, but walnut blasting is what will get the job done. Most direct injection motors will need this eventually. Mileage is all over the board. Might not need it for a very long time.
  7. Why is the new Bronco Raptor so heavy and fat??

As long as it has the power to handle it, a little extra weight isn't a bad thing for going fast in the desert. And, if most of the weight is in stronger parts, that's just what it's going to take to make it do what it's meant to do reliably and do it well. I also wonder why my Bronco is 1500+...
  8. New Under Vehicle Protection Skid Plates Now Available!

Sorry to get this thread off track with the diff discussion. Some good looking parts here that are a good option for folks who don't have factory skid plates.
  9. New Under Vehicle Protection Skid Plates Now Available!

BTW, I didn't respond to this comment. The comment is incorrect. I am a retired KOH driver/competitor, and for 5 years have been a tech inspector. I see every single car that competes in KOH, in all classes. Myself and three other guys tech every car, I see every one of them. I assure you that...
  10. Badlands: To Squatch or Not to Squatch

Don't know if there is a solid answer to this. There were some sidewall cutting problems at Off Roadeo Las Vegas, which has more rocks than the other venues. We had a good discussion about that when I attended. There have been posts about the Territory's picking up and slinging pebbles at the...
  11. New Under Vehicle Protection Skid Plates Now Available!

Appreciate the attemp at educating me. Sorry, while I understand your point, I disagree and will stick with mine. I've been doing this for 30+ years. Have built and wheeled the crap out of numerous Jeeps. Have built and raced two KOH cars, with a 4600 class national Championship. Have built...
  12. New Under Vehicle Protection Skid Plates Now Available!

Sorry, but have never understood why anyone would lower the ground clearance of the rear diff by adding a skid plate, when it is already the lowest part and is made of solid steel. Kudos on the rest of the stuff, give folks a nice option that don't already have skid plates.
  13. More Yellowstone & Race Red Heritage Bronco photos from Woodward

Som' bitch.......that is my dream yellow Bronco. That's the yellow that I wish my CO Badlands Bronco was. What to do. Don't think I want to spend another 20k for a different Bronco, but wow! Would I ever like to have that Bronco!.
  14. California Set of 4 Sasquatch Tires $350

Ha! I must not have been there. (y) (y) We'll have to keep in touch and go on a run. Have you done anything with any of the local clubs? Wonder if we've met.
  15. California Set of 4 Sasquatch Tires $350

What color is your Bronco? Have to keep my eye out for you. If you see a CO 2dr parked in front of G&G Auto Repair on Fruitvale, stop and say hi. :)
  16. Do you come from Jeep and miss the Jeep lifestyle?

At our monthly 4x4 club meeting two weeks ago, there were 3 with Broncos. A week later I had mine. I immediately put the word out for a trail run on Sat (just over 200 miles on mine) and we had 4 Broncos and 4 Jeeps. The Broncos fit right in. It really is mostly a 4x4 community (well, except for...
  17. Do you come from Jeep and miss the Jeep lifestyle?

Well, from one old guy to another, I respectfully disagree. I have lunch every Thursday with my rock buggy buddies, and we travel all over together. I have friends who have street rods, and they hang out and have lunch, go to events, and there are good friends made from that community. Harley...
  18. California Set of 4 Sasquatch Tires $350

And I just ordered a set of 35's yesterday. What are you putting on?
  19. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

Picked up the Bronco last week. I was able to get the Curt plug in light harness and the Roadmaster D ring brackets within a couple days. Got them installed and we headed to the beach. Towed nicely. No time to get the Air Force One brake kit moved over from the Jeep, but I'll handle that when we...
  20. Excessive Mileage from the factory

Just got mine last week, had 72 miles on it. Also, it had been built in late April, but didn't ship till late July. Sounds pretty normal.
