Great info! I had mine going today with the panel on to test for rattles and there are few so Iām trying to go through and get those sured up before I finish everything. I also had the rattle on the outside as well! Seemed to be near the taillight on that side. Not noticeable sitting inside though.
I didnāt really look into it. I knew I could remove the cubby and im making my own grill to fill the hole as we speak. I will post an update when I finish it and get it all together. Also, if I have any issues with the speaker travel hitting the panel I may have to move to plan B which would...
The panel opening? It seems to have enough room but I havenāt fully installed it yet. If there is an issue my back up plan is to get a universal 10ā speaker grill that way thereās room for the speaker to travel. We will see when I get everything clicked back in.
Iām not sure if itās the same company but I know what youāre talking about. I decided to go with the stick on boom mat and poly fill just because thatās what worked for me in the past.
I used some boom mat inside of the box and filled any voids with poly fill. Same with the 4ā. It really makes a difference.
I tapped into both front kick panel speakers to get the high level input for the amplifier.
Iām dying for this for the two door. I had high hopes for bestop but itās disappointing so far what they have available. Iām praying someone makes something a LOT easier to take on and off and folds all the way back into the cargo area. Hopefully soon š¤.
Ya the speakers I put in sound a ton better than the stock ones but you can tell they are held back a little compared to the front dash speakers. Iāll probably ride with it for a while before I decide if I want the flash or not.
I think itās a he same part number for bother 2 and 4 door? I could be wrong but I asked around on here before I ordered and the consensus was the sub enclosure would fit both.
and I had no issues with mounting it everything lined up perfect. Only issue I had was with my amp which I explained...
According to crutchfield thereās only one sub that would fit without my modification and it was a jbl thatās not in stock. Plus it looked kind of cheap. Idk I like JBL products for the most part but I wasnāt sure about their subs so I stuck with the kicker.
I replaced all 4ā with kicker KS series with bass blockers up front. Added a sub using the factory enclosure that I added to my base. Kicker 8ā shallow mount with kicker key 500.1 amp. Sounds awesome now!
The kicker key has it built in. You have to do some programming after install which Iām still not done with but itās supposed to bring back the bass that typically gets filtered out by stock head units .
