  1. Wildtrak and Rock Crawling - which GOAT mode?

Close, but no banana. Like someone mentioned already without using GOAT mode you don’t get the soft throttle or tight steering. The soft throttle in particular comes in handy for those of us who have a heavy right foot. It might prevent a broken tie rod or axle.

I’m not sure which recall you’re referring to? Is it this one? https://fordauthority.com/2022/10/ford-bronco-satisfaction-program-launched-over-driveshaft-issue/amp/
  3. Broke the axle on my Badlands Bronco... pics and video

Oh, and in the apples to apples comparison for those that claim JKU's never break axles. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/help-snapped-my-axle-on-my-2022-jlur-xtreme-recon-and-i-need-advice.101335/ and this is on a Xtreme Recon which is Jeeps answer to the bronco Sasquatch.
  4. Broke the axle on my Badlands Bronco... pics and video

First, let me say that I have nothing to prove here, to you, or anyone else. Buy what you think will work best for YOU and what you want to do with the vehicle and YOUR driving style. But, I will say this, I don't think it's fair to compare 30 year old iron with the new stuff. Especially...
  5. Broke the axle on my Badlands Bronco... pics and video

This entire thread has devolved into the standard Jeep guys bashing on IFS and claiming that only straight axles are any good for hard core wheeling and the IFS guys defending IFS. The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

@EN2DIRT Yeah, except he was by himself, and had no recovery gear. He’s lucky we came along when we did.

@EN2DIRT No doubt that an OBX with "street tires" wasn't the best choice for that kind of mud pit. Would he have made it if he had something more aggressive, maybe. but not even the guys with the snorkels in our group were willing to take it on, so that tells me something...

  9. Broke the axle on my Badlands Bronco... pics and video

Yup, that’s exactly what they said when I was at off-roadeo. Flip it on when you need it for an obstacle then back off again. But then again, we weren’t dealing with snow.
  10. In the name of science… go over 45 mph when hitting mud / water puddles

Except they were talking convertible in the c rain. But close enough! That was a cool episode BTW.

Went on a run with a big offroading group called SCORCH (Southern California Offroad Club & Hangouts) to Hungry Valley SVRA on Saturday. Defiantly a diverse set of vehicles and skill levels on this run. I was the only Bronco, but we had pretty much everything under the sun, including a Rivian...
  12. FORScan Bronco Working Spreadsheet (double honk, sport mode, chimes, seatbelts, and more!)

I think this has been gone over before, but the best advice I can give you is: 1. The very first thing you should do is download your current settings and save them. 2. Next, change one thing at a time, and one that works, again, download and save that. 3. Continue changing/saving one thing at...
  13. FORScan Bronco Working Spreadsheet (double honk, sport mode, chimes, seatbelts, and more!)

I like that one because it doesn't have the switch, makes it easier to use IMHO.
  14. FORScan Bronco Working Spreadsheet (double honk, sport mode, chimes, seatbelts, and more!)

It’s all laid out on the Forscan home page. https://forscan.org/home.html Personally I use the OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter https://a.co/d/5csC5Sf

  17. ZROADZ TRAILX R1 Series Rock Slider Side Step installed on Black Diamond

No, no worries, I think we are in violent agreement here. :) It all depends on your c use case and it sounds like yours is more demanding than mine.
  18. ZROADZ TRAILX R1 Series Rock Slider Side Step installed on Black Diamond

To each his/her own. I was actually at Bronco Big Bear Bash hon that video I posted was shot. I saw that Bronco after he cam back to base camp, and also saw the video. After watching the video I went an check out the ZroadZ and they hardly had a mark on them. So I was convinced, and went with...
  19. ZROADZ TRAILX R1 Series Rock Slider Side Step installed on Black Diamond

Yup, but walked/drive away without any carnage in large part to his ZroadZ.
  20. ZROADZ TRAILX R1 Series Rock Slider Side Step installed on Black Diamond

I agree, and I've seen plenty of folks hit them pretty hard including the video I posted above. One guy took off his stock rocksliders and they were bet, but no damage to the vehicle after he literally went airborne and came down on the rocksliders. So, I think that for all but the most extreme...
