This is a run being led by @Felix808, I'm just creating an event for it here. this is his message about it on the SoCal Bronco's club board here: Hey guys, Looking to lead a run through Lockwood Valley & up Miller Jeep Trail on Sat 10/15/22. Planning to meet at Flying J off Frazier Mountain...

@Felix808 Yup, shouldn't take me long to get there in the morning. if you cross post as an even on here, and maybe also on some other forums you might get more takers. :-)

BTW, count me in for the Lockwood/Miller Jeep trail run on 10/15. It's been a LONG time since I've been on that trail, so looking forward to it. @Felix808 how many people/Bronco's do you have signed up to go?

@Felix808 I'm not sure that alone will do the trick. Take a look at page 9 of your manual where they talk about setting the squelch sensitivity. If you're getting lot of "background noise" and barely understandable transmissions breaking your squelch you might want to adjust that. I usually...

@Felix808 What kind of radio do you have? You should be able to adjust the squelch to keep the noise to a minimum without needing use to privacy codes. But it also depends on what kind of radio you have. Especially some of the FRFS radios don't have a signal strength based squelch.
  8. YETI Bronco - Outerbanks SAS with 17" Beadlocks and 37" BFG KM3

I'm wondering what kind of off-roading you're doing with your Bronco? Rumor has it that with an upgrade to 37"+ tires and a spacer lift you could have an issue with tie rods and the steering rack if you do any serious rock crawling. There are some ways to beef those up and I'm wondering if...
  9. I'm looking for a flagpole mount to mount on the tailgate! Can someone help me?

I have the same mount. My question is, how do you connect the antenna to that small plate with the round hole in it? What parts would you need?

I think that what you can see from your research and the comments on here there's a lot of different options, and different clubs/groups/people run different kinds of radios. I was just on one set of runs where the club used 2 meter Ham, then another where it was GMRS, I led a group recently...

Be careful doing your own oil changes. There's a lot of talk on these forums and other places about the drip stick on the Bronco being the wrong length and could cause you to under fill the oil. Add to that the complains about the oil pan design and you have the recipe for early engine death...
  14. Big Bear Bronco Bash XXI - Event Info, T-shirts, etc.

No worries, there will be people who can help. Just make sure you have a strap and attachment points. But for the Wildhorse Meadows run you shouldn't need them, it's an Easy run. More scenic than anything else. You don't even have to air down, but some people do to make the ride a bit more...

  16. Big Bear Bronco Bash XXI - Event Info, T-shirts, etc.

Well, I'll be there with my 6G on Fri, Sat. and Sun. I see a lot of other 6G folks who are saying they will be there too, so if there's safety in numbers you should be fine! ;)
  17. Big Bear Bronco Bash XXI - Event Info, T-shirts, etc.

I couldn't agree more. But there's safety in numbers, which is why I've been working to get as many 6G folks to turn out as possible. :-)

My wife isn't much into camping, and this is pretty close to Bronco Bash (June 9th), so I may have to skip this one.
