Well, even though I had the engine wrong it has made me re-think about washing engines as well. I always thought the boot was supposed to be a really good seal. My only advice for folks here is to pull a boot and take a look from time to time. It's not hard and easy to see.
What irritates...
Oh, sorry. She lives far away so I googled the engine. I did the old soak the plug well with penetrating oil overnight. They looked so bad I was terrified one would break off and then I would be pulling a head. Luckily they broke pretty easy. I have always thought of the boot as the primary...
I was absolutely shocked recently when my daughter's 19 Ranger with a 2.7L engine was diagnosed by the dealer with water intrusion (it was misfiring). She did park it nose down slightly in a driveway that makes the problem worse. The fix was a plug and boot change and dielectric grease on the...
I have a complete set as well. I purchased them when I had a base but now I have a Wildtrak with the Fox system. Coil overs, upper and lower control arms. Everything. I don't know that you need it all, but you could have spares. LOL. I would be around $500 + shipping as well. Owner said...
First upgrade was to replace the GYMT’s with new KO2’s. Just my favorite tire. The shop that installed the tires pumped them up to the door jamb sticker of 40 psi. Seems to much for this tire. I’m thinking more like 35 psi. Without doing the chalk test, does that seem right? Will I have...
Ok, I am guessing this will be a dumb question - but here goes. About 3 months ago I had my Wildtrak in the local Ford dealer with a reverse sensor error. They said it needed a new sensor. They ordered one, but said it needed to be painted. Several months later I am at the dealer to service...
Im leaning toward the LOD. They advertise it works with the stock skids and it has good coverage. Glad to hear it is solid because there are only 3 point of attachment. I sent a PM to Oldhippie to see what he has. Thanks all.
Ive done some searching but cannot get a definitive answer. Does anyone know of a transmission skid that will work with the factory skids? Nothing fancy - just steel in my case. Appreciate the help.
I had Vector on my wrangler and the quality was very good. Does it use the Bronco center attachment point or keep it free? That might be the “key” for me as I would like to use the Mabett center power adapter.
I recently purchased a set of factory skids to install on my WT. I had the dealer install them, but I later found the engine skid in the rear with the extra front skid. While I was installing my rock sliders, I noticed that there were some cross members in the same area. Does anyone know if a...
Changing the Goodyear MT to my favorite BFG k02 tires this weekend. Discount tire that I have had good luck with in the past. They changed 2 tires and called saying that the rings were chipping. To their credit they stopped and called me. This only happened on 2 out of 3 wheels. I told...
Really helpful thank you. Looks like your adapters are long enough to get out past the winch mount. I have the same Baja bar. I will have to install the BlueOx baseplate first and then insert the adapters. Can you tell me how far out from the mod bumper the winch plate extends?
I just switched from a 2.3L to the 2.7L engine. I just removed the hidden winch from the 2.3L before a trade. I don't think I want to tackle the hidden winch on the 2.7L, so I was looking at the high winch mount by Rough Country. Does anyone have this setup with a towbar? Its a bit difficult...
