Well you have to be lucky. Don't think you are immune though. This is very common in modern Fords.

I have 3 fords and all of them have APIM issues. Sync4 restarts, CarPlay disconnects, etc. I was told there was an update coming this month to "fix all these issues" by my dealer. I haven't seen anything yet, has anyone else? I only ask as these update pushes for Ford are so unreliable.

Yea, you are probably right. That is why I was asking the dealer about how much it would cost to replace (assuming it was pro-rated) versus buying a premium AGM battery. But when it is free it's kind of hard to pass up!

I don't know what assistance you could provide. The dealer resolved the issue with a new battery. How about working on the defective APIM software update. That one worries much more significantly.

Yea, I agree. You would think with all these electronics you couldn't devise a "Hey your battery is dead dumbXXX" display message.

No, it's easy to do yourself. I changed the battery in my Expedition recently and installed an Odyssey battery. You just have to remember to reset the BMS system after you change the battery. Google and you can find the procedure.

Thanks for that. I like the ADD setup. I think I will go that route because the BlueOx setup only has one bolt and the tow bar slides into the frame. So I can't get inside the frame to install the nut for the 2nd bolt on the LOD bracket.
