  1. Second Thoughts on Manual Transmission

In addition to the towing, hooking and unhooking a trailer issues with a manual (I didn't even talk about trying to back a trailer into an uphill slightly off angle campsite after dark on gravel and accidently throwing rocks everywhere.. sorry neighbors!o_O let me just put it in 4x4 here..) Ford...
  2. .

It’s a good point.. without a heavy dose of common sense sometimes more lockers can mean more stuck
  3. Second Thoughts on Manual Transmission

I sold a manual transmission truck to buy my current 2.7 10 AT F150. I love manuals generally but it was not a fun to shift manual. It was a GM truck not an S2000 or NSX. On top of that doing truck stuff, like backing up a sloped driveway to hook up a trailer without a spotter (Get out to...
  4. .

The e-locker on my F-150 only works below 20 mph. Above that it disengages. When you drop back down below 20 it engages again.
  5. Flying out for delivery and driving back?

I echo the other responses. Totally do it. But yeah, I’ve driven all those roads and I think you are overly optimistic on how much ground you can cover while trying to sightsee. So I suggest add more days or cut back on places to visit. As an old dad some more advice.. My kids are grown now...
  6. Sub 2k lb camp trailer to tow with Bronco?

Maybe a scamp.. could be configured https://www.scamptrailers.com/pdf/Scamp2014_Catalog.pdf
  7. Sub 2k lb camp trailer to tow with Bronco?

Looking for hard-sided (non pop-up) camp trailers. Preferably with bed and table separate.. so don't need to get out of bed to set up the table. So I can sleep in while wifey gets up early and eats.. These are pricey but living the empty nester life I think they might fit the bill for my...
  8. Best Tire Set up for Snow

If you want to do great donuts make sure the rear locker is engaged and traction control is all the way off.. Any tires will do just need some space .. like a church parking lot. If you don't want to do donuts (is there anyone who doesn't want to do donuts?) leave locker off and T/C on. Modern...
  9. Bronco Pricing Realities & Toyota Alternatives

I never don't want my package. Always glad its there..
  10. Excellent IFS vs SFA Article -- 2021 Bronco's Advantages In Having Independent Front Suspension

Question.. if a long travel IFS allows the wheel to articulate as much as a SFA, would the advantage in crawling be gone? Is 24” up and down 24” regardless if it comes from SFA or IFS? The reason I ask is some of those IFS/IRS UTV’s and King of Hammers vehicles do some pretty insane crawling...
  11. Base Model Bronco Thread

yeah, I put “before wheeling and dealing and destination..” I was thinking it’s easier to just talk MSRP on here as I figured everyone knows they are going to have to deal with destination, doc, TT&L, mandatory dealer adds.. etc with their dealer. MSRP is a common value so makes it easy for...
  12. Base Model Bronco Thread

I think it will be pretty easy to find 17" 32's as take-offs from other models. I got some polished 20" wheels from a platinum with brand new ~32.5' Goodyear Kevlar take-offs with <50 miles on them for my F-150, mounted balanced and installed from the dealer for $800. Straight profit for them...
  13. Which state would fit the bill?

This is a great thread! I love hearing everyone pitch the good things about where they live. That is the beauty of the USA, good stuff mostly everywhere. I am a Utah native, it is low humidity and still pretty red but I'll let Ken Block pitch it. He has several "Awesome Can-Am riding" vids...
  14. **VOTE HERE** Top color choice for your 2021 ford BRONCO

Agreed! I voted for Silver.. black is just too hard to keep clean but red might be nice.. with a white top.
  15. What's with the manual trans hype?

I have it in my '18 F150 with the 2.7 and don't notice any hunting. In normal mode it is pretty much invisible. Just does its thing and I never really think about it. When I put the hammer down though it thinks about it a bit and then things happen quick. In Sport mode its a different story. It...
  16. Roof off security

Drive a base manual trans and put those fake bullet hole and rust spot stickers here and there, drive it through some mud and leave it dirty. Put on some old faded and worn saddle blanket seat covers and make it look just this side of already abandoned. All reversible and should decrease...
  17. What's with the manual trans hype?

This thread is an interesting read with lots of great points about both. I love manuals, learned on them and buy them whenever I can. Nothing more fun than a good shifting manual in a fun car. I recently had a '98 GMC K2500 pickup with a manual and it isn't that good of a manual. It got old...
  18. Driving 80+ mph on highway with new Bronco?

My truck is similar in weight to a 2-door bronco has the 2.7EB, 10-speed, 33's, 3.73 gears and is shaped like a brick. It is hard doing 80 on the freeway.. seems to always want to go 90+ I see no problems power wise. In regards to noise though we will just have to wait and see I suppose..
  19. GM Doesn't Want The Ford Bronco To Have All The Fun

I love love love electric. I bought a cheap electric car used just to try it out and love it. Also have an electric mtn bike I built that is so fun. I test rode Zero bikes and the new Harley Livewire and loved them both. If your sphere of movement within the day is within the battery range It...
  20. First Videos of 2021 Ford Bronco on Rubicon Trail (+ More Pics)

Cool to see them out getting tested! For me though, any trail I can walk through faster than drive is a pass. Too much of the country I still haven't seen to spend all day driving 1 mile. But to each his own and I am sure glad that people like to rock crawl because it gives me lots to watch...
