  1. Concealing Dashcam Wires in Bronco with Hardtop

I just finished installing a 4 camera dvr system. The door pillar trim comes off pretty easy after you remove the front bolts on the side air bag. You have to remove the cover on the roof section latch point, don't just yank it off, there are tabs with little clips you need to push in with...
  2. The flat tow issue – how I was going to address it

What transmission and transfer case you have?
  3. The flat tow issue – how I was going to address it

Per neutral tow procedure in owners manual it states to not disconnect battery although I tend to agree with you that that would seem to work.
  4. The flat tow issue – how I was going to address it

Thanks, they probably don't make it readily available to keep people from doing what I want to do...
  5. The flat tow issue – how I was going to address it

No, I'm talking the plug on the back of transfer case that then goes to shift motor on top of transfer case.
  6. The flat tow issue – how I was going to address it

Those plugs should be sourceable both male and female, I could build a harness to put in between and put switch in that harness. Then remove harness anytime vehicle has to go in for service. This has real possibilities. I might have to take a trip to Massachusetts and let yuo poke my Bronco!🤣
  7. The flat tow issue – how I was going to address it

Or perhaps after verification that it is actually in neutral unplug the shift motor after turning key off and plugging it back in before turning key back on. You got me thinkin here!
  8. The flat tow issue – how I was going to address it

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said this was your thing! This solution would still involve splicing into wires thereby voiding warranty anyway but thanks for the impressive work. I'm researching an acoustical sensor to monitor transmission noise. Problem I'm having is finding a sensor that...
  9. Ford claims flat towing our 4 mo. old Bronco destroyed the transmission (not covering under warranty)

What sucks is they have the information available to them if they would just use it. There are 4 different speed sensors in the 10 speed transmission. The output shaft sensor could be utilized to send a signal if the shaft is turning when it shouldn't be and somehow notify you something is...
  10. Ford claims flat towing our 4 mo. old Bronco destroyed the transmission (not covering under warranty)

I understand, didn't mean to come off angry or anything. I'm a bit passionate about this because I bought the Bronco for its capability to be flat towed and now I can worry about it every time I tow it. Ford was zero help in my efforts to talk to someone knowledgeable about problem and it...
  11. Ford claims flat towing our 4 mo. old Bronco destroyed the transmission (not covering under warranty)

I got that info from a Ford mechanic and it was specifically for the Bronco. It was related to code p179d which is one of the fault codes listed in the service bulletin being used to deny neutral flat tow failures. I posted it to illustrate the point that if Ford can't even get their service...
  12. Getting ready to take the plunge - am I getting this right?

Hey there Larry, had another idea on monitoring transmission state when neutral towing. What if you installed a small microphone or ultra sonic sensor against transmission case, covered it with sound deadener so it wouldn't pickup wind and road noise and attached it to an arduino board to...
  13. Toad Vehicle Hit List - 24' 2 DR Bronco Heritage Edition

I had a roadmaster system from previous toad. I built a bracket and installed it under glove box. There are limited places to mount unit in the interior so probably not the best option overall. I believe some of the other brands can be mounted under hood. Roadmaster unit is visible where I...
  14. Off-Road Air Compressors: An Overview & Comparisons (video)

I also have the complete Thor system. Only used it twice so far but VERY IMPRESSED. 12psi to 40psi in 5 minutes. Things do get hot but that is to be expected. Definitely leave engine running when you use it.
  15. Getting ready to take the plunge - am I getting this right?

Other than the potential neutral tow mode problem we love the Bronco. Drives great, had it up to Silver Lake sand dunes a month ago, very capable. Looks cool too. If you could come up with a monitoring system it would be awesome. Probably want to make it removable if you have to bring it to...

  17. Getting ready to take the plunge - am I getting this right?

There is a feed on this forum about the transmission speed sensors. There are actually 4 different sensors but I think output sensor would be the one to use. There is a pin out diagram of the plug as well but I believe it was a 2021 model year so could be different. I will try to send you the...
  18. Getting ready to take the plunge - am I getting this right?

Did some more research on this. There is a 9 volt output shaft sensor in the transmission. If you could get ahold of the matching male and female harness plugs I would think some type of a device could be plugged in between factory harness connectors to get that signal. Would have to be...
