I have experienced issues while towing 2023 Bronco where the EBB initialized for some reason. When motorhome brakes are engaged the toad brakes experience lock up of brakes due to the fact the toad braking system is calibrated to no EBB assist. Not fun... I started pulling fuses after it...
Ah, ok you were just getting plate fitted before you welded it to the sliders. I understand.
How wide do you think I can go. I'm thinking just inside the line of the outside of the tires from front to back. As long as I have enough taper on the front it should slide along stuff I might come in...
Thanks, I want to try to make it usable as a step. I see you had a plate bolted to the frame. Did you weld mounts to plate?
I want to make mine easy to remove as we have power steps my 5 foot wife likes when we aren't on wheelin vacation. I'm thinking something similar to a Reese hitch receiver...
This is exactly what I want to build! I'm glad I ran across this post. How much you have invested? Would you see any problem with having them stick straight out instead of at an angle so they could be used as a step?
I've had this happen a few times as well. I didn't realize it was a widespread issue. I'm going to look at it closer to see if I can figure why it's doing it.
Do you see any reason I couldn't use these for my safety cable hookup when I flat tow. I really like jcr's skid plate setup except I lose my tow hooks to install front plate. This looks like it would work with minor mods to front plate.
That is a circuit breaker. If it gets to hot it trips off till it cools down, then turns on again. If you have a light or meter you can test each terminal to ground. If no voltage on the side with the 2 wires it could be bad. If you have voltage on both sides problem is further down the line...
Thanks for the input guys. I found some Go Rhino Dominator slider steps that are optionally frame mounted and have a usable step as well. I have to do more research but I'm leaning towards these at this point.
I'm trying to decide if the body mounted rock sliders are good enough for my use. I won't be going out of my way to do very technical trail riding.
We have power steps on now which I will be interchanging with whatever rock sliders I get based on trail riding or mall crawling. The ball and chain...
Could you draw me a schematic of how you would do this. I'm kind of a beginner with the electronics stuff. I used a hall sensor to stop a conveyor at a specific spot using an arduino board on a project. So I can muddle through but your comment was way over my head. I would have to see the...
I'm thinking of this orientation instead of side to side. It is tighter to the roof this way. (The tripod is just being used to hold it up there for pic, not the way I plan to mount it.)
Worst part is by the time it gets warm the damage has already started. I wanted to tap into one of the transmission speed sensors and rig something to send a signal to motorhome if it started turning when it shouldn't but that of course voids warranty. (Which ford doesn't honor anyway)🤔
I spoke to him as well or at least someone there. The problem is there are no exploded views of transfer case available to confirm this. I didn't want to spend 1600 bucks and still not know if I was safe. I spent months trying to come up with something to monitor the transmission rotational...
