  1. Flat Towing, unexpected brake lockup.

I have an older roadmaster system. Since I started pulling fuses have not had it happen. One time I skipped pulling fuses to see what would happen and the brakes locked again. When I say locked I mean the brakes come on too hard when I hit motorhome brakes. They release when I release motorhome...
  2. Flat Towing, unexpected brake lockup.

Mine started doing it about 2 weeks into 2 month trip. I could never pin point a common factor that causes it to happen. I did note that 2 times when it happened it stopped after running over rumble strips before stop light. Which makes me think bad connection somewhere. I started pulling fuses...
  3. Flat Towing Success - What's Your Setup?

I started pulling fuses. Just can't depend on it because you never know when it might happen. I'm in the Rockies right now and sure don't want it happening going down a long steep grade. Results could ba catastrophic...
  4. Ford claims flat towing our 4 mo. old Bronco destroyed the transmission (not covering under warranty)

I thought about unhooking driveshaft with a disconnect device but you have to unhook front as well. Too much hassle.
  5. Rear Brakes lock up during flat tow

Probably latest update causing unforseen problems. I used to think it was a good idea to keep things current but I don't think so anymore. Seems like Ford does an update to fix one problem only to screw up something else. Time to turn off auto updates.
  6. Rear Brakes lock up during flat tow

I'm thinking all brakes lock as it very significantly pulls on motorhome. I've read similar posts on the forums that this still seems to happen occasionally after update. Your issue definitely sounds like parking brake though. Not too impressed with Fords electronics...
  7. Rear Brakes lock up during flat tow

Wait another 5-10 years when all this electronic wizardry starts to fail... I love my Bronco but I don't know if I'm going to keep it. I've been towing about 3000 miles to date, not neutral tow issues but occasionally the brakes lock up when stopping. I gently pump brakes when happens and...
  8. Would it be crazy to flat tow my Bronco with my F-150?

What model Winni do you tow with? We have a 2011 Sightseer with the Ford F53 chassis an V10 engine. Only thing I've noticed is the Bronco is quite a bit heavier than our old Saturn Vue we used to tow. We are heading to Glacier from Michigan. It's been a great trip so far. Did some 4 wheeling...
  9. Flat Towing Success - What's Your Setup?

I put the Lobo crash bar delete kit on as well. Really pleased with the result. Much stronger tow point this way.
  10. Flat Towing Success - What's Your Setup?

Thanks for sharing, we are about 2 weeks from our first trip. Hopefully we can report the same success in a couple months. You made me feel better!😃
  11. Ford claims flat towing our 4 mo. old Bronco destroyed the transmission (not covering under warranty)

Seems strange there haven't been any new instances of problem this year that I know of anyway.
  12. Ford claims flat towing our 4 mo. old Bronco destroyed the transmission (not covering under warranty)

I wonder if it's possible to change transfer cases if you have advanced 4wd to a non advanced. I imagine computer programing would be biggest barrier. I know it would be $3000 but the piece of mind might be worth it.
  13. Ford claims flat towing our 4 mo. old Bronco destroyed the transmission (not covering under warranty)

I went a step farther and installed a mdvr system with cameras showing dash with neutral tow enabled screen recorded and a camera showing me doing all the steps. It records 24/7 and has gps coordinates recorded on video.
  14. Bronco suspension fail of the day

Could the cup have collected road salt and corroded weakening it to point of failure? I live in Michigan on a dirt road so my vehicles get exposed to salt all year. Causes lots of grief.
  15. Bronco suspension fail of the day

If it was a competition you definitely won Fordified!
  16. Another case of clunk / knock sound from front driver suspension area

Loctite may help with reused fasteners. Not sure.
  17. Flat Tow failure

And how many people would completely ignore that anyway.🤪
  18. Flat Tow failure

I hear you. Only thing I have noticed there have been no new reports that I can find this year. So either people have been more diligent performing the neutral tow process and ensuring battery voltage is maintained or Ford clandestinely updated the computer code to not change AWD modes if...
