He said he's never met anyone who was disappointed in the GS speakers until they hear the GBs properly powered. Having heard them now first hand I can see why and if I could throw the power at them they needed I wouldn't hesitate to build around them (my wallet would though, haha), I just can't...
I just met with Jacob from Audiofrog yesterday to hear the demo Volvo. That thing sounded *really* nice.
I asked him about if you can't drive the speakers with the kind of power they were throwing at it (300 watts to each of the mids & tweets alone) was it worth it, and he said if you're not...
I've got an order open with Tri-State for about a month now (since 6/15), I just called today and it's still on backorder status with no ETA on actual shipment date but they were going to contact JL for an update.
Edit:
I wouldn't hesitate to use any of their brands in a build, they're some of the most highly respected brands in sound quality builds especially in Europe.
I actually know a person who did exactly that and had all 4 of his fingers chopped off, the hospital was able to reattach them but he never had full use of that hand again. He wasn't the brightest kid in school either.
I'll let you know in a month or two once everything shows up, lol.
Upgrading from non B&O to a B&O based system is not simply getting the B&O subwoofer enclosure - which is different from the 7 speaker subwoofer enclosure - or the B&O Amp/DSP.
If you truly want to do a B&O swap you need to...
If you have the connectiivty feature enabled on your modern Ford, it will upload it's active configuration to the mother-ship which in turn becomes the online As-Built configuration. This is why it's important to make a local backup of the module configuration before you make any changes - you...
Same situation in central NC, so I finally broke down and placed an order with Tri-State (https://www.soundoftristate.com/jl-audio-sb-f-broncg6-10tw1). Them and Pacific Stereo are the only two places I've found selling it online so far. I'm still waiting, but they were clear it would be at...
Oh I did forget a critical step :( You have to change a setting using Forscan to activate the sub output because I was focused on the physical steps.
Check out this post for more detailed steps...
If you have a 2003 with the sub delete, It's about as easy as it gets. Removing the side panel is probably the hardest part, cause once that's done it's undo 4 bolts and disconnect a harness to remove the enclosure, swap the speaker, swap the amp, (optionally, block the port), reinstall the...
If you didn't block off the sub port that's probably the same distortion and port noise I heard while testing my kicker sub with bass heavy songs. It sounded decent until anything below around 35hz played, so I sealed it and it sounded better but I lost volume. Still gonna be putting a...
That used to be the wisdom back in the day to try and keep interference out of the signal, however that was back before cars had 50 computers in them generating noise, and miles of wiring of their own. These days, your signal wires are going to pass several EM & RF noise sources no matter which...
Ford has already stated there will no discounts carried forward into 2024, but that is for unbuilt/carryover units.... if you were build in April but have been sitting in limbo somewhere it's not clear what will happen to those discounts but I won't be shocked if they apply the same cutoff to them.
What bites me is I dig through the menus when I first get a new car, and change a few things then can never find the menu to change them to something else later.
