Well, the list is getting longer and longer with FORD.. they are ādropping the ballā at every opportunity.. You tell them.. they do nothing about it.. YOU have a problem, they have some problem with solving your problem. FoRD Motor Company⦠If I had the money tomorrow, I would buy you out...
Hi, based on the ātrafficā of posts on drivelines I am going to suspect you should drain the transfer case ( save a sample of the fluid in a small jar or plastic container) and look closely ( get a picture) of the metal collected on the drain plug. The transfer case uses two quarts of MERCON...
Great work.. I have installed three sets of these on 4-Door Broncos here in Alaska.. The biggest challenge I have / had is dampness and ice constantly taking out the magnet.. I tried various adhesives and finally I tried a JB Weld variant that has survived the week.. Ice and snow and melting and...
Hey Arizona, if you are just driving highways and streets, the 3.73 works well with the 2.7. I have one BigBend that has a 2.3 L and the 3.73 and Iāve gotten 22.9 MPG going back and forth to work in the summer.. The 2.3 L doesnāt shift well though, it last the torque that a 2.7 has.. so if you...
Go FOX 3.0.. Itās a FORD performance part (s) and you should probably have them put on by a Dealer shop.. check the threads for more HOSS 3.0 information..
Ouch! Did you check the Ford Store.. There seems to be a dis-connect between Ford Store and the Dealer ordered supply chain.. I say that because I ordered three Ford Performance rear differential covers to do three Broncos.. I got one in a big box.. The label says there should have be three...
I would like you to go through this post.. Bottom line is especially front differential and transfer case fluids need to changed regularly.
thanks to @CarbonSteel

Hi, how many miles did you have on the transfer case when in failed, and how many miles since it was repaired ? And did you change the transfer case fluid since you originally bought it? The fluid change is the focus..
As per our friend @CarbonSteel, I am using 75W110 (AMSOIL) in the front axles and 75W140 (AMSOIL) in the rear.. As been discussed, the front axles use barely 1 quart of fluid. As a general rule heavier grades, especially synthetics, manage the heat better as those differentials work overtime...
4A works SUPER on Badlands and Wildtraks here in Alaska .. But, make sure in the spring you get your transfer case fluid, front differential and rear differential gear oils changed.. The factory gear oils Ford uses are too light for winter heavy duty service.. Here is the metal from my transfer...
A final note.. Itās well known that vibration, jarring, etc wares on the wiring and especially electronics.. IT makes the body start squeeking, and rattling.. This is worn shocks, springs and leaf springs.. Body mounts fall in this category, they dry and become hard. Having the most comfortable...
Okay, thatās it.. Letās build a test fixture and test all these fancy tie rods.. The proof is in the pudding ( load that tie rods fail) .. Cyclic load is a little more changing, but it could put to rest what really works vs. itās good enough for highway safety.. Just saying .. š
