  1. Ford Performance Offering a Tune for the 2.3 Ranger

Can't wait to see what kind of numbers they give us from the 2.7 with the warranty. Something like 370hp I expect. I'd definitely pick that up. I'd be running premium gas regardless to get the most power it can give me, pretty sure all the ecoboost engines recommend it.
  2. will the bronco be cancelled altogether?

I would love that just to see all the fanboys/haters on both sides of the house have to suddenly do the mental gymnastics of the company they consider to do no wrong being one and the same with the company they consider to be able to do nothing right.
  3. will the bronco be cancelled altogether?

No company in their right mind would change Ford's brand upon buying it. Jeep didn't start being associated as German when Daimler owned them, nor Italian when Fiat took over (at least not to the general public). Jaguar and Land Rover aren't associated with being Indian, even though they are...
  4. Ford Patents “G.O.A.T.” Dynamic Suspension System (Including “Daredevil” Mode) for 2021 Bronco

I'm trying to figure out how it could switch from solid to independent front suspension at the push of a button...is this basically a really stiff, disconnecting sway bar?
  5. What’s your dealbreaker for new Ford Bronco?

Uhh...listed curb weight on an 07 Unlimited Rubicon is 4,315 lbs. Gross weight is only looking like 5240lbs, so if yours is sitting at 5500 you may have a problem https://www.autoblog.com/buy/2007-Jeep-Wrangler-Unlimited_Rubicon__4dr_4x4/specs/
  6. Striping & Decal Packages you'd like offered

From what I've heard it sounds like moving panels (doors, hood, swinggate) are likely to be aluminum but everything else is steel. Would have loved for at least the fenders to be aluminum as well to avoid rust...ah well.
  7. What’s your dealbreaker for new Ford Bronco?

Yeah, I have one. Don't forget it's got an aluminum frame and suspension, magnesium engine subframe, aluminum driveshaft, cfrp body panels, manually adjustable passenger seat and a balsa wood floor (yes, really). They did a lot to get the weight down so far over a base C6 (3400lbs) while adding...
  8. Who is your daddy and what does he do?

I'm Dave. I'm a systems admin and integrations engineer for a global software company based up here in Vancouver, Canada. I'm big into motorsports of various types. I've won my class in the western canada regional TSD rally championship a couple of times. I've also autocrossed, rallycrossed and...
  9. What’s your dealbreaker for new Ford Bronco?

If the curb weight of the Bronco is 5000lbs I will be shocked and incredibly disappointed. Considering a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon is only 4400 I can't see the Bronco being significantly more than that. Run those numbers again with a curb weight of 4200 for the 2 door and a 2.7 beats...
  10. Let's overanalyze the mule undercarriage

If the one with the horseshoe is the front, then yes. That would be really weird though, so I assume that the strut is actually the front and the weird horseshoe coilovers are the rear. Strut front and coilover rear is a much more common layout. Also agreed that the horseshoe bracket is a...
  11. Let's overanalyze the mule undercarriage

    Nice example, thanks!
  12. What’s your dealbreaker for new Ford Bronco?

Oh, yeah, the Challengers are porkers. 4600 for a hellcat is about right.
  13. What’s your dealbreaker for new Ford Bronco?

A 2020 Mustang GT has a curb weight listed at 3,705 lbs. Still heavier, but not that much
  14. What’s your dealbreaker for new Ford Bronco?

If you are comparing power to weight of an old iron block V8 compared to a new all aluminum twin turbo V6, it's going to be even more skewed in favor of the new engine than just looking at raw hp numbers 2.7 Ecoboost: 440lbs, 325hp 351 Windsor: 510lbs, 220hp gross, probably <200 net
  15. 2021 Ford F-150 14G Interior

Fair point. That cluster there looks a lot better than the large simple flat looking panel we see on the F150 shots, a little depth and curve goes a long way. Plus the gauges images themselves look a lot nicer than this: I also am not a huge fan of linear bar tachs, but that's a whole...
  16. Quarantine Reveal ?‍♂️

Sort of. But us on this forum aren't going to be the bulk of the sales. The people who are desperately following every shred of Bronco info aren't the ones they really need to convince. It's the mass of people that they need to reach by having every media outlet talking about the Bronco and how...
  17. 2021 Ford F-150 14G Interior

Oh, I definitely want to have a screen in the gauge cluster for the sort of integration you mention, but in your example, the part I'm not sure about is the value of having the speedo and tach shrinking and moving rather than just having the nav info show up in the middle of the cluster on a...
  18. Quarantine Reveal ?‍♂️

Honestly, I don't think there are all that many people who are going to pick up a new vehicle on a great deal right now that aren't going to be open to then swapping to a Bronco in 2-3 years, which lines them up nicely with a 2nd or 3rd model year Bronco. You're right they won't be day 1 buyers...
  19. 2021 Ford F-150 14G Interior

I really like that the screen is part of the dashboard and not sticking up, I really like that there are physical controls for climate and stereo. I'm not 100% sold on the single flat panel for the gauge cluster. I'd personally like a separate speedo and tach with physical needles, and then a...
  20. Let's overanalyze the mule undercarriage

Not necessarily, it's entirely possible to have suspension that is neither coilover nor strut, such as double wishbone with separate shock and spring units. Off hand, an example is an old S10 where the lower spring mount was the lower control arm, rather than the shock body. Also, Corvettes with...
