  1. What’s your dealbreaker for new Ford Bronco?

How long do you think it takes to develop a vehicle? 5 years is pretty quick for a completely new from the ground up design. I'd much rather wait a bit longer and get something good than have it be rushed and crap. Something that can actually sway jeep owners released in a year from now is far...
  2. What’s your dealbreaker for new Ford Bronco?

Makes sense. Not wise to be spending your entire annual income on a vehicle. The people in the first category are better off looking at older used ones if they want a jeep, would be interesting to see the same poll on a non-JL specific jeep forum.
  3. Base 2021 Bronco starting price

Well, you may be right. I'm far from any sort of expert on new CUV pricing, so I'm certainly open to be surprised. I won't be in the market for one either way. I just can't help but feel that if the only thing the Escape has going for it is a couple inches between the wheels and the Bronco...
  4. Base 2021 Bronco starting price

I can't say I agree. Two things: -2" of wheelbase doesn't come close to telling the whole story for size. The overhangs of the Sport may be larger, and it's certainly taller with a roomier cargo area. It may also have a larger wheel/tire package which negates some of the wheelbase difference...
  5. Base 2021 Bronco starting price

This is the first I'm hearing anything about the Sport being smaller than the escape. I had the same impression as it sounds like everyone else, that the sport would essentially be an offroad, beefier version of the escape. Unless the doors are super short, or the wheels are really small to...
  6. Top speed

Here's the highlights from last year, including a few good shots of some high speed stuff:
  7. Top speed

Go look up some footage of the Dakar The top speed those guys are hitting in the dunes is around 180km/h which is about 110mph.
  8. Left foot braking

Hmm, that's disappointing to hear, thanks for chiming in. Is that true even in 4wd, and/or with traction/stability control disabled?
  9. Left foot braking

Good to know, thanks! That's exactly the behavior I would not want in the Bronco, but from what other people are saying it sounds like Ford doesn't do it that way.
  10. Top speed

My Pajero Evo tops out around 110 (180km/h), and today that's still the top speed of Dakar Rally racers. I can't see ever needing more than that in the Bronco
  11. Odds of diesel Bronco coming?

I certainly don't see it coming at launch. If the Bronco does very well otherwise I could see it down the road in a few years after release.
  12. Left foot braking

Interesting, thanks for the explanation. If you are already driving at high rpm, say 5000, and drag the brake what happens? Does the throttle cut abruptly until it gets back down below the lower rev limit?
  13. Left foot braking

Lol, not for burnouts or launching as some have suggested, though that's always good too! I'm thinking for off-road driving where it's nice to be able to smoothly put in a little bit of brake without letting completely off the gas in some situations. For me, in a corner it's nice to be able to...
  14. Left foot braking

Even with a manual transmission you'd still have a drive by wire throttle, so they could program in that if the brake is pressed and the vehicle is in gear, the gas won't open the throttle. I hope they don't, but they could. One of those idiot proofing things that is good to prevent the general...
  15. Left foot braking

So here's another question from someone who hasn't owned a vehicle made in the last 10 years and hasn't ever owned a Ford: Do you think the Bronco will allow you to left foot brake while still applying throttle? Do other Fords allow this or does the throttle cut when you press the brake pedal...
  16. Base 2021 Bronco starting price

It won't be cheaper than the cheapest Wrangler. But then it also won't have manual crank windows and no power locks. Everything we've heard says it'll be competitive with Wrangler on price, so expect Sport S feature levels at a slightly less than Sport S price. This is my general assumption for...
  17. Ford Performance Offering a Tune for the 2.3 Ranger

2.3 vs 2.7 vs 3.0 (diesel) vs 5.0 Credit to @FirstOnRaceDay for putting it together
  18. Ford Update: 2021 Bronco Will Have Its World Debut This Spring

As someone who's worked in IT, oh yes they do :P
  19. Bronco Camping Accessories

99% yes, given 4x4 F150s including the raptor and 4x4 rangers both have a flat tow mode.
  20. Ford Performance Offering a Tune for the 2.3 Ranger

I'm assuming that these tunes might not quite hit the emissions numbers they want which is why they'd rather offer them as add-ons? Similar to how you can buy a 'racing exhaust' for a motorcycle from the dealer with a warranty, but they can't offer it as an actual option on the bike because of...
