Thanks! Good to know I donāt have to stress about lugs :) Iāll have to figure out all the Forscan stuff now to adjust tire size. Woo!
Will take a pic of my Baselands once I get the things mounted š¤
Did you re-use the lugs from your steelies to mount, or did the BL wheels come with 'em? I'll hopefully be doing this soon too; will be good to know if the BL wheels require different shaped lugs. Thanks!
Maybe you've already ruled this one out, but you could side step the issue by going with aluminum. If you're really planning on hammering them, maybe it doesn't make sense. If not, though, the hit to durability might make sense as you'd never have to spend time messing around with rust.
Dealing with the chip stuff is like a dystopian game of wack a mole right now. Lots of time by the time you turn around a design, something else gets de-committed, and itās back to the drawing board. Itās a pretty impressive feat to keep lines going without much interruption right now...
8/17/20 res date here. Also got the 2/7/22 build email. Base 2dr manual.
Sadly I didnāt keep the faith and bought a 4Runner about 3 weeks ago and I have no idea what Iām going to do now š
I ended up going with a '22 4Runner SR5 Premium. I see Carmax selling the same trim/year for about 10k more than I paid, which makes me hopeful that I can offload w/o too much loss or effort when 'ol Bronco comes around. Hopefully I'm not too attached to the 4runner by then, haha.
I think Iām about to go with plan B, a good olā 4Runner. Dealer nearby has a 2022 TRD Sport in Lunar Rock (not my first choice, but theyāve got it!). With an alternate set of wheels and tires it will have some of its dignity restored.
Over the summer I sold my previous daily and picked up a ā96...
I also sold my car at the start of the Summer when I could no longer resist rising trade-in values. I had grand plans to hold out until my order got built. I made it about a week, and then a pretty blue '96 5th gen bronco dropped onto Autotrader nearby. It's not what I'd normally daily, but I've...
Damn, given all the media around bronco bolt hard points, I figured they'd done up a few of 'em on the rear gate... I'm kinda surprised this accessory isn't bolt on. Looks good, though!! After I've gotten a few door dings I'll feel more comfortable with breaking out the drill... until then...
I'm hoping the slump in near term sales doesn't have an effect on whatever timeline they're running to create and release new hardware features for this beast. In my mind, the worst case scenario is nothin' much changes design-wise (that would be interesting to us consumers) for several model...
I'ma hold out until I either need to replace my car, or the bronco cometh. I'm fairly tempted by a potential lime green 2022 4runner, although I believe that path will lead to buyers remorse once I see broncos rolling around more often.
Regardless of what is or isn't "Bronco", my main interest in this vehicle is that it's cool, it's new, and it has a removable roof. Would I consider it w/o the removable roof? I'd still be tempted by the stick shift option and the great styling... but no, out of the much wider range of...
I share your feelings about the aesthetics of the base, and I'm not mad about switching over to it. that was an interesting insight about sunglasses... maybe just the push I need to add the switches option.
