Fairbanks, AK here and got to -36F on the thermometer, although the UAF sign I drove by read -40. I learned on that drive that college kids really like dressing down and taking pictures in front of that sign… I was NOT expecting that on a -40 day.

Oh I made that! It's paracord knotted around the wheel. My memory is a bit hazy, but I think I followed this video: I used the "goldenrod" paracord color from this page, it seemed to match up pretty well with Cyber Orange. Lots of colors to choose from...

Same here, thanks to inspiration from this post - good looking mod! This is my version, I used a NOCO branded extension with a built-in receptacle. Wiring at the stock plug is kind of nasty looking but it seems I've achieved my goal of having it not move around much.

What a road trip! I'm looking forward to dusting off my KLR and exploring come next summer. Our speed was more or less all over the place. We had a few stretches of what I'd call real highway (I-90 or I-5 like driving) but a lot of the stretches we rode were 2-lane, and the last several hundred miles were extremely rough and variable (Al-Can highway). Trying not to outrun the U-haul...

I've experienced the lurching a few times now too. It has only happened when I'm accelerating in 2nd while the car is still warming up. Seems like power drops for a second, RPMs drop and power picks up again, over and over. I've had to push the clutch in to get it out of the funk, if I don't it...

Did 2500 miles back in late August. I don't know about your bronco, but the infotainment screen on mine will freak out if I run it for more than about 3 hours with CarPlay When doing my trip I didn't want to mess around with running navigation on the infotainment screen & dealing with that...

My thoughts on 5 vs 4 (doing the rotation in my driveway).... 5 is MUCH easier to accomplish (on my own) because I only have to have to jack one corner of the vehicle at a time. I absolutely hate doing a four tire rotation because I have to have two tires off the car as I'm moving things around...
