Fun morning at Holly Oaks ORV with @Mattwings and the Michigan Bronco Club. Highlights:
Stopping to pull out an ATV stuck up to its fenders in mud
Climbing the āslick rockā of Potato Salad @ Magna Peak
Two loops around Endurance Trail to use Crawl Control (first time) on the steeper declines...
Headed thattaway! Hopefully someone in the group can be patient with this base non-sas driver, and tour me around the Endurance Trail and other milder parts of the park before ramping up the difficulty level!
Iām not pretending. I own both vehicles so I donāt have to.
I know the limits of the base Bronco on 33s pretty well. Itās honestly really impressive what the base will do if you are smart and pick the right lines. Itās fun for me to work my way through stuff without all the āeasy buttons.ā

āI truly hope my Bronco lasts decades because itās such a fun and capable truck - even in the Base trim.ā
āSo now, we have a ā23 4Runner at about 23k miles and a ā23 Bronco at about 27k milesā¦Will be interesting to compare the reliability of our two 2023 vehicles.ā

Desert sand on a base. Was my hope to have that option in MY ā23. Oh well! Glad others have the option now and looking forward to seeing some roll around.
Happy for my price protection and $32,000ish for a Base with auto, mod bumper, aux switches.
I realize things change, but Iām telling you...
I like them! Iām sure the ride is a little firmer than tires that arenāt an E-load range. But I counteract that by running the pressure a little lower (at 32 psi). Wear seems to be good at a little over 20k miles. I rotate them religiously at 5k miles, so Iām sure that helps.
Havenāt gotten...
Agreed. I think being a cultist of any automakerā¦hell, any corporate ābrandāā¦is bad news.
Itās our first Toyota. Could be our lastā¦no idea. For me, the appeal of the 5th Gen 4R is that it hasnāt been redesigned during the era where cars somehow became iPad docks on wheels. The antiquated...
