Exploring the Marquette, MI area. Nice drive and hike today!
  2. Show us your Bronco snow pics!! ☃️❄️🥶

    Checking in from Marquette, MI.
  3. The 2023 Shadow Black Base Experience

Detroit to Marquette for the weekend. Nine hours through overlapping winter weather advisories. 4Hi and cruising at 60mph all the way up. Was concerned about the Falken Wildpeak MT on the packed snow and ice but they eat it up! Headed out for more driving/sightseeing tomorrow. More pics coming.
  4. Rival Reviewed: 2025 4Runner First Drive Reviews Are In

Same. When we take the 4Runner out of town, I drive. Every time, I’m saying to my wife “wow, you really have to plan ahead to pass on the freeway.” in Sport mode, my bronco will almost lurch itself forward. Egging me on to make the pass. 🤣
  5. Rival Reviewed: 2025 4Runner First Drive Reviews Are In

My ‘23 4Runner has the tried and true 4.0L V6. No turbo, so I’m not saying the performance even matches my Bronco’s 2.3L. But the powertrain/drivetrain and overall reliability of the 5G ‘runner are well documented and it would be hard to make the case that ford has matched that with any of their...
  6. Rival Reviewed: 2025 4Runner First Drive Reviews Are In

😂 This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a statement like this on Bronco6G forum. It never stops being funny or baffling. If the Wrangler and Bronco aren’t direct rivals, I don’t know what is… I have a ‘23 4Runner, purchased last year anticipating the new generation wouldn’t be as...
  7. Wide vs Narrow Tires for offroad performance -- a scientific comparison

Yes. The 255/85r16 is the largest diameter (33.1”) tire I could find in a 16” wheel size. The width of these tires is 10”. Not sure where you’re getting 9.5” but if you’re adamant on a 9.5” width, I think the largest diameter you can find is 31.7” (235/85r16). So, thats like a Black Diamond...
  8. Wide vs Narrow Tires for offroad performance -- a scientific comparison

25k miles on Falken MT 255/85r16. Mud, dunes, off road parks, forest service roads, mountain passes, horrible potholed streets, ice/snow, cross country road trips (Detroit>Seattle>Detroit). No regrets. Might switch to some 17” takeoff wheels when this set of tires is spent, because corrosion on...
  9. Photos: Olympic Peninsula, WA Exploring

We had a great time. 10 National Parks on the way there and back. Olympic was one of the highlights. Beautiful country.
  10. Photos: Olympic Peninsula, WA Exploring

Fun stuff! Was there in August and it was tricky finding trails, but we can’t wait to get back. Long haul from Detroit, though. 😅
  11. Rack Review - ZROADZ

Appreciate this thread! I agree that this rack looks the best of all options. It can be hard to find info on the Zroadz rack, especially for 2 doors. Are you able to remove your roof panels while the rack is installed? And, any signs of stress (cracking, waves, etc) on the hard top mounting...
  12. Drove about 30-35 miles in Slippery Mode (4H) in heavy rain.

What kind of rainfall necessitates anything beyond 2H? Not trying to throw shade, but unless that rain is freezing or falling on muddy roads, 4H is pointless. If you think you need a 4x4 for rain on paved streets, the Bronco Sport was probably a better choice.
  13. 3 Most USED Mods on Broncos? Go!

Bro flaps - still going strong after several off road excursions where I’m sure they got folded, pinched and pulled. Bartact grab handles/Rhino RB-20 slimline steps -Grouping together because it is essential to have steps and handles in a two door if you regularly haul rear seat passengers...
  14. Can I be cheap for once with this thing?!

If you’re going cheap, the Hella 500 LED pair I installed (with added amber covers) work well for my needs - better snow, fog, rain visibility and for spotting critters that want to leave the ditch and taste some bumper.
  15. GPPBronco

    Michigan Bronco Club

Interesting. Did you have any frame horn reinforcements installed prior to the winch mount failure?
  16. Anyone added a limited slip differential?

👆 👏 👏 👏 Mountain pass in the North Cascades this past summer. Never thought once about needing a rear locker on that journey but I was regularly thinking “what did I get myself into, here…?” 🤣
  17. Anyone added a limited slip differential?

From the Great Lakes region here. Rain weekly (at least) and snow/ice for a couple months in the winter. I have a Base non-sas w/ the 2.3/Auto combo you have. Mud terrain tires, no winter service rating. I gotta say, it’s hard to imagine spinning out on wet roads with this thing. Hydroplaning...
  18. Anyone with a 2 door regret not going 4 doors?

Yep. Three weeks to Seattle and back from Detroit. Wife and two kids. No regrets on our 2 door Bronco. I also play in a band and can easily get all my guitars, amps, etc. in there. Wouldn’t be confident parking with all that $$$ gear in there if I had a soft top. It helps to have a 4Runner...
