  1. GVWR and general weight concerns

I bet they probably stayed away from aluminum to give the Bronco more structural integrity for off reading. Alluminum would probably bend a lot easier.
  2. GVWR and general weight concerns

I'm right there with you and your concenrs, though I'm aiming for a BD right out of the gate. As near as I can tell, it should be ae to handle well above 6k weight if you are on mostly flat roads or off road at lower speeds. It might not do so if you are bashing it hard off rocks fully loaded...
  3. Invoice pricing for some 2021 Bronco packages and options

Ahhh. I see. I saw the figures posted, but I dont think I ever saw the original source. These numbers would seem to indicate that it is closer to the 6% then.
  4. Invoice pricing for some 2021 Bronco packages and options

Would that mean 6% off the price of the vehicle as well? I saw in another thread that the vehicle is only reduced by like 3%. Just curious if anyone knows.
  5. GVWR and general weight concerns

My concern is safety and longevity of the vehicle. I dont know of anyone ever being held criminally or civilly liable for being over weight outside of commercial vehicles. My concern is more about the suspension, axles, tires, etc. They are only designed to be able to support a certain amount...
  6. Is the towing capacity really that bad?

The 6k GVWR is set by federal code. Anything under 6k is a "small SUV" and anything over is a "standard SUV." Jeeps all have a GVWR under 6k, and some things on the Ford Bronco site indicate that GVWR is a limiting factor in getting some accessories on the Bronco. So, I think people just...
  7. GVWR and general weight concerns

Yeah, I hear ya. I think that spec listing is all any of us have to go off atm. It's definitely a concern for me. I'm definitely all in on getting a Bronco, and I can look past a lot of the stuff other people have raised concerns about. This weight issue, though, could be a big issue for me. I...
  8. Is the towing capacity really that bad?

We don't know for sure if the GVWR is 6k. That's been the going theory on here for weeks because Ford wants to keep it in the "small SUV" class to compete with Jeep. If so, I'd feel like Ford kind of screwed that up. Most people utilizing the Bronco would like thr ability to pack for trips...
  9. GVWR and general weight concerns

Yeah, I think you are right with respect to the sticker being on a 2 dr 2.7 BD. How much more weight would the 4 dr add? If the GVWR is the same for the two, you could potentially have a 500 or 600 lb payload on a 4 dr vehicle! That cannot possibly be right. Even assuming Ford calculated the...
  10. Active Duty Military "Special" pricing plans?

Sorry man. People around here have already been let down by this months ago.
  11. GVWR and general weight concerns

The problem, I think, is that the suspension and everything is the same between the 2 and the 4 door. Does that mean the heavier 4dr has an even smaller payload? pa I think the payload for a 2 door wrangler is closer to 1k.
  12. GVWR and general weight concerns

Yeah. I cannot spend 45k on a vehicle that cannot haul my family on trips. If the payload is only 800lbs, that's pretty much useless to me. I'd sadly have to bow out of getting one if it were that low. In fairness to everyone, Ford should release these specs soon so people can make an...
  13. Race Red Outer Banks Sasquatch | Navy Pier Interior Seats

Thanks for the pictures, dude. This looks awesome. When you say the back of the 4dr was cramped, could you describe that a little more? Were the front seats all the way back? Would it be uncomfortable for an adult to ride in long distance Also, did you happen to get a look or pic of the door...
  14. GVWR and general weight concerns

Someone posted a spec sheet in another thread that listed the payload for the 4dr at about 200lbs more than the 2 dr. If the payload for the 4 dr 2.7 BL, that would decent. The payload sticker on my Edge says 950, and I've never experienced a catastrophic failure with it. Yet.
  15. Is the towing capacity really that bad?

I've been thinking about BD 2.7 because of the MGV. With kids, cloth seats won't last. The problem is, I dont really need the upgraded bumpers, bash plate, or sliders. The extra weight from the armor is gona kill the max payload. On the other hand, to get leather on the obx 2.7 is still 2...
  16. Is the towing capacity really that bad?

Yikes. Only 800lbs of payload! Wow. That is not good for an SUV. That's not really enough to carry 4 average adult men plus any luggage they might have.
  17. First Edition Bronco (Pre-Production) with Rear Cupholders Spotted

I hate how the brush guard blocks the Bronco letter on the grill.
  18. B&P #s

Stephens in WV is doing invoice -1k. Closer to you than Granger (Iowa), but still a decent haul up 95.
  19. Ford

Cool. I hear ya. I'm not planning on get rough and rowdy with my Bronco immediately. I just want to make sure that I correct any early issues that might snowball in the future.
