Decades ago, Bronco II Manual trans: Chirping sound driving down road with clutch pedal released, stopped with slight pressure. Dealer said it needed clutch and throwout bearing, hundreds of 1984 dollars. They charged me an $11 diagnostic fee which I disputed on the basis of why would I...
Decades ago, Bronco II Manual trans: Chirping sound driving down road with clutch pedal released, stopped with slight pressure. Dealer said it needed clutch and throwout bearing, hundreds of 1984 dollars. Symptoms were reverse of throwout bearing. I researched shop manual, drilled a hole in...
Your assumption is that a Ford dealer would have found the actual cause. I'd say the OP found the actual cause (based on his and many others experience) and a Ford dealer would have replaced the pump, tubing and reservoir and still not solved the problem
Since the thread is off the rails anyway: I have a Bronco without front locker and since the traction control disengages in low range and isn't that impressive even in high range do you guys think using Trail Control might give me a poor man's locker through individual wheel control when...
1. Sasquatch would be good, but overkill for what you describe.
2. Badlands non Sasquatch is probably the 'best' Bronco model
3. If I wanted a four door I'd get a Big Bend Black Diamond (disregarding #2 above) because I'm cheap
2.3L is great.
Looks promising, and 20% off now. I load my tandem kayak myself and get a little vigorous rocking and rolling it on, worry I might catch this and break it though.
After the Jeep CJ/Bronco/Bronco II roll over hype manufacturers are making axles (track) extra wide for rollover protection, while keeping bodies narrow to give the perception of maneuverability. Broncos are wide, Sasquatch too wide and Braptors ridiculously wide, yet they all narrow inside.
How much lift? and yes, doing UCAs I would assume it would be required, especially Camber. Good Info. I've felt I can usually see more than 1/2 degree camber but maybe not.
Asking for a 'friend' that also did 5100s at 1.5" , let me know what your before and after are. This 'friend' did a hillbilly alignment after install, found nothing wrong and has driven a couple years straight, true and with no adverse tire wear.
I'm not an engineer, but I played one at work and agree with your premise. When I installed my 5100s at full extension the springs where compressed i.e. pre loaded. Once I installed them and put the vehicle weight on them they compressed to the same point they did before the install, albeit...
Good fairly complete set, I wish vice grips, breaker bar and crescent wrench were the next size bigger, they would fit in the roll. I also got the Motley add on kit which fills some voids. Some Torx Plus, bigger cresent, big axle nut socket, belt stretcher...
True enough. But it's a big paradigm shift for us old guys who can remember an auto mechanic who was cheap, good and honest (my dad) and also poor. In today's world what you say is true, skilled folks deserve to be paid well and we expect that high overhead shop and showroom.
Lately I've...
