There is no "standard" for build to delivery-to-customer. Like others have said, it depends on the modes of transportation that your vehicle must take to get from plant to dealer. When I worked for a Ford dealership a customer's special order Ranger showed up 8 days after order. That is not...
I reserved a Lightning, will go with a basey basic base of base. Not canceling my 2 Bronco orders, but may trade one of them, or my beloved Fusion, on the Lightning.
Nay nay. Dealers get paid a commission back from Mother Ford for A/X/Z plan deals. When I worked for a Ford dealership (back in the day) the A/X/Z plan deals were a great deal for both the customer and for the dealership. The ugly issue with A/X/Z is trade in allowance. IMO, even though the...
I have 4 reserved (2 different Ford Owner accounts.) FE for 2021, and Base (moved to Big Bend) pushed to 2022. My 2nd account has a 2 door and a 4 door Wildrtrak. My eyes were bigger than my pocketbook when I reserved 4. Working on an epic yard sale, if it works I may be able to get a 3rd -...
I had a Samurai with a soft top as a rental car for about 2 weeks when I was on a research project on Maui in 1993... What a wonderful, nimble, simple, reliable, underpowered, buzzy, unrefined and F U N little car that was.
I sat in 2 different 4 door Broncos today. I'm 6'4 and a bit broader in the beam than I care to admit. The Broncos were both soft tops w top partway retracted. My 2 door Broncos will both have hard tops. Leg room, width, reach to wheel and pedals, seat adjustment was all fine. My concern is...
The door itself felt fine to me, the concern is the stop. It felt like it would be easy to overcome the stop. Cursory inspection showed a small tab on the bottom hinge is the only thing from keeping the door from whacking the front fender. Not a show stopper but something to keep in mind.
Attended the Bronco event at Ditschman Ford in NJ. I know these are pre production vehicles, but the doors seemed a bit weak - no door checks to keep them from overextending. Seems like it wouldn't take much to force them past the stop and cause damage. Thinking real strong wind gust, or...
I would've reserved a Bronco Sport day 1 (after my Bronco res of course!) IF I wasn't fixing up a 2009 Mariner for dirt road duty. I've spent way too much on Mariner parts to bail on it. Technology is worlds apart from the Mariner to a Bronco Sport but mechanically it should hold its own...
I like it too. Looks like a K&N-type air filter, wiring harnesses, and a camo painted Nintendo game boy from 1994. Seriously though, I appreciate seeing this even though it is obviously a working document and not final copy.
To clarify - the device in the image appears to be the M12 inflator (i.e. no tank, no reserve, cannot run air tools.) The M18 air compressor is a totally different animal.
I scored a day 1 res for a FE and a Base. My FE has 5 of the 6 deadly sins so I don' t expect to see it until mid-2022. Upon learning of the 2022 delivery I converted my base, changed it to Big Bend, 2.3, 7M, locking rear, switches, and trailer tow so I should get it soon. I convinced myself...
Throwing gas in the fire... I got a Milwaukee Max 18V cordless air compressor for a unique job.
The thing is an air pumping superstar, and it is q u i e t. I bring other Milwaukee cordless tools with me so they share the same battery. It has a small air tank that can be charged at home.
