There isn’t one. Passenger vehicles don’t come with redundant systems like that. The manufacturer assumes that in the event of a failure in the hydraulic brake system you will be able to downshift to reduce the speed. Engaging an electronic break that completely locks the rear wheels would...
True you can but its primary function is as a “parking brake” as listed in the owners manual. By normalizing calling it the emergency brake people stop thinking about using it when parking.
Probably one of the few with this opinion, but if people would stop referring to it as a “ e brake” it would probably help. The “parking brake” is designed and intended to help hold a vehicle in position when parked. Even in an automatic engaging it should be a normal part of your routine before...
I have not tested it in the bronco as non ethanol fuel is hard to come by in my area but I think a lot of newer engines don’t like it. Couple of years ago I was heading back home to Ohio from NM in my Kia Optima with the non turbo engine. Normally that car got 40-42MPG on open highway road...
Mine does it occasionally in 4L primarily if I’m trying to shift fast on an obstacle. Is probably the synchros trying to do their thing under the extra load that low range puts on everything.
Yes there are some fitment isssues. Without the battery hold down it fits fine but the added thickness of that bracket under it makes it about 1/4” too tall. Have my hood stops up higher enough for the hood to be flush with the fenders and there is still some rubbing. I modified the shape of the...
I use aux 6 for mine. Not for direct power but to supply the incoming power to the ARB switch. Mainly did it as a failsafe so that the compressor will only run if the bronco is running and the switch is flipped.
One thing I wish I had ordered different is my J-Top. I like the product and the fact that I still get UV protection and some wind reduction when I take off the front panels, but I ordered the wrong color. Went with the “titanium gray” thinking it would be light enough to reflect some of the...
It was one of the first things I got for mine. 27k miles and no cracks yet. And when you park next to a bronco without one in the summer you see just how many bugs it does deflect.
I fully agree with you that is part of the fun of exploring. But for this situation I got myself into there was no excuse for falling into a hole I knew was there lol
Recovery was pretty straightforward actually. Anchored to a gladiator with a Rome in the back while a wrangler pulled forward slowly with a winch. Engaged the rear locker and put it in crawler gear and it just floated the right rear over the hole.
I think it will, looks like nothing is bent just slid up on the mounting bolts. Gonna check and see if it will move back in place on my next day off, actually thinking about pushing the other side up so that the gap between the fender flair and bumper goes away lol
Upon closer inspection now that it’s daylight it appears the bumper got bent up slightly. Still impressed with how the factory “capable” bumper took the hit.
Primarily pay attention to the trail. Went out to the far end of southern in Rio rancho NM to assist in the recovery of someone else who was in a precarious situation. Was heading back out after others had rescued that one and was almost to the end of the trail and knew that bad spot was there...
I fully knew the hole was there…. Thankfully we were able to get it out without much fuss and no damage other than a couple new scratches in the steel bumper.
Currently running Baja Boss AT 255/85R17 on my non sas BD with no lift. Being load range E they are heavy (especially mounted on ateel wheels) and a little bit rougher than the General Grabbers that came from the factory. Wet traction, mud and snow they have been great. The local rocks in NM...
