Yes they can and have done that. The primary factors are your dealers allocations and avoiding the supply constraints. Your story, while uncommon, happens.
Thanks for the review. My order is in for a soft top. Thankfully it doesn't rain a lot where I'm from or where I'm eventually planning to move. I do think that they could add a larger rain gutter on the soft top like they have on the Jeep. I'm very pleased to see your fuel mileage.
With 1000 reservations, 2023 may be a few years optimistic. Btw, I'm a Grangtober reservation holder too and not planning on anything earlier than 2024 if I'm lucky.
Just curious what they told you regarding allocations, price and the amount of your deposit. I'm also in GB, but had been talking to a different dealership.
I read that was a limited issue tied to faulty manufacturing of a certain lot of engine parts. It sounds like that issue is known and limited in nature, not a widespread fault of the design.
There are many people with orders that don't have VINs assigned. Ill gladly take a VIN and keep my order the same if that means I'll get my Bronco next year. I don't think FMC will limit change orders to profit from higher builds.
I think this crap of stealing orders is pretty common and only coming to light due to the reservation system providing consumers with updates. In the past, you were at the mercy of the dealers for information.
I would ask them to reorder it and give it a priority code. If they don't, walk and leave a bad review. There isn't much more that you can do in these situations. I do find it very odd that your order was sold to someone else.
On a different Granger thread where someone attempted to make a reservation with them and they received a message that they were going to concentrate on existing customers due to concerns with allocations. It doesn't hurt to reach out directly.
They are actually a small dealership in Iowa that was very active on this forum and offered great deals on Bronco orders. Many of us are very loyal because they were more transparent than most other dealers. It's my understanding that they aren't taking any more orders as FMC changed their...
You can contact Ford and inquire about moving your reservation but no guarantees. Many of us were able to place our orders in 2 weeks ago and have emails from FMC confirming it.
The price protection is supposedly a coupon or discount applied at the time of sale. It depends upon the model that you previously ordered or had reserved. It has nothing to do with what dealers may charge. There are several threads regarding this.
