VIN is basically assigned after the order is assigned a build date. Just being pulled for production doesn't generate the VIN.
When builds got was behind in 2021 I think they even had to cancel and reissue VINs.
Yes, but it's designed wrong. The head restraint is not supposed to actually touch your head.
It should be about 1.5-2" behind your head, so that in the event of a rear end collision head movement is minimized.
It should never touch your head during normal driving
Everyone I know with an EV goes through tires at a ridiculous rate. Half the miles I get on the Mustang, much less the Bronco. I can buy a lot of oil changes for the price of a set of tires.
Basically ALL Broncos were special order for the first 2 years. Ford policy is to put customer orders in front of dealership orders. Then when Ford allowed dealers to order for the lot, they were limited to 4 door soft tops due to parts shortages.
Customer orders (as you would expect) leaned...
1 - I hate "non color" cars. I do agree about Rube Red though. I ordered RR, and by the time I got my Bronco that color had been discontinued, so I got Hot Pepper instead. Really like the HP Red.
Note: I would have bought velocity blue, but the wife's F-150 is Velocity Blue and I was told I...
But only the back wheels turn. Since Bronco doesn't even have a limited slip, only the right rear turns. Never owned a car or truck where the fronts wore more than the rear, unless the alignment was completely jacked up.
I could have ordered my Bronco from the closest dealership.
But said dealership is notoriously skeezy. They add 4-5k of dealer installed BS (nitrogen filled tires, vin etching etc). They were not willing to put in writing that they wouldn't do that on customer orders, so I ended up driving...
Every time I take my Bronco in for something (last time was detaching headliner) I have to remind the service girl "it's a stick, send someone who can drive a manual to get it".
Like I am going to allow some service drone to drive it a dozen mile to the dealership and back.
That would be my 1998 Ford Ranger. Purchased brand new. Tires chunked off the tread at about 960 miles. Firestone still owes me a set of tires. Wilderness HT. They eventually recalled the AT, but never recalled the HT, even though it was the same construction.
I just put a full set of tires on the daughter's Subaru. Lots and lots of tread life left, but they were 7 years old and dry rotting from the sun.
My tires on the Bronco are 3 years old, and look like they will also easily last 7 years (if they don't explode from the sun first). And the...
Yes, but those numbers were determined by what is best for FORD, not you or me.
Just like the crappy soft tires the manufacturer puts on most vehicles to give a soft, sqooshy test drive. They are not good. They don't perform well. They are just on there to help close a sale with folks who...
My Bronco gets better gas mileage (other than freeway) than any other vehicle I have owned in the past 40 years. The Mustang GT did better on the highway.
Dealerships just spent millions of dollars repainting everything blue and chrome a couple years ago on a corporate rebrand that took a wrecking ball to any local color or charm making everything corporate. I thought it a significant downgrade.
Ford: That was cool, let's do that again.
The...
