I'd be a bit concerned using those, as the leverage would be far outside the scope of what the recovery points were intended for. The frame horns are certainly susceptible to bending as evident by the use of high mount winches, which bolt on to the same place. There's a whole ton of strength...
Most of my vehicles had a similar push in latch rather than the pull up latch, I guess since that's what was ingrained by muscle memory it's more ergonomic for me.
What about an air/water intercooler, that way you could mount the intercooler where it's easiest/most direct to route the intake, and the radiator could be mounted wherever there's room for it, like a remote trans cooler. It would require a fan and a water pump, and air/water systems have their...
Ah, I was going to post a writeup very similar to what Doc posted, but he outlined the repair pretty well and was a lot faster than me LOL
Just remember to cover the fiberglass repair with -something- to prevent UV damage later on. Whether that's a can of spray paint or bedliner it doesn't...
Good to see people keeping the trails clean 👌
Skid plate manufacturers really need to incorporate recessed bolt holes. They might lose a tiny bit of clearance from having a thicker skid but it's better than having to break out angle grinders and whatnot to get the skids off. One option would...
I settled on 36psi as the damage had already been done to the center by the time I noticed, and when I did the contact patch test it went from edge to edge. Brand new tires probably wouldn't do that at 36psi, but seeing as how there was some tread height missing from the center it kind of evened...
What's the other side of the damage look like? That'll probably be the difference between whether a simple fill and fiberglass repair will work for you or not. Use a nickel and tap on the top, listen for dull thuds caused by delamination to determine how far the damage extends.
Interesting that I've yet to see a thread about upgrading the sport bars into a roll cage with frame tie-ins, only a few passing comments here and there mostly commenting about the 4600 Broncos. That actually would stiffen the body AND chassis, in addition to protecting occupants at higher...
I'm at 33K now with the 35's, and they're still doing great. I'm not so great at estimating tire life but I'd say they're pretty close to 75% tread. They have more wear in the center from roughly 20K miles if I recall at factory recommended pressure. Running lower pressure when new might give...
I've always been fascinated as to why people want to copy a look that was legally mandated by the government. I'm glad it is relatively cheap and easy for them to do though.
To be extra fair, it doesn't have to be hooked up to the intake to be considered ram air, it can be ramming air into the washer fluid reservoir and still technically be considered a ram air hood. I would probably duct it straight to my seat cushion because Ford was adamant that I didn't need...
Mine definitely had the subwoofer rattle, and a lot of others do as well, it sounds like a blown speaker when it reaches a certain volume and frequency (55-75hz usually). After I isolated where it was coming from, I can say with reasonable confidence that you'll eventually have it too, unless...
