The "brain" is under the hood, typically secured with a mount made by BAMF, located in a crevice just fore of the battery (in a V6 model). The relocation requires that an extended-length wire kit be purchased from Warn, as the wires that come with the 10S aren't long enough to snake under the...
No amount of trimming the end caps that go on the back of the sensors was enough to make use of the caps, as the winch has a larger side profile than others, apparently. My sensors are on there without the caps holding them in. How did you make it work?
I'm planning on a safari bar as well - it'll probably block letters R and C, but I really don't like the big expanse of a grille as it is currently. The bar will also allow for an alternative location to mount my Hi-Lift.
After driving in 4A, I detect a burning smell; also, there's a noticeable drag on the driveline while in 4A, which one can feel while driving (more throttle input to get/keep going) - switching back to 2H regains a detectable "spring in the steps" for the Bronco.
Just putting this out there - Central Coast Broncos' second monthly meetup is again donut-themed, taking place on the usual 3rd Saturday of the month (Jan. 21, 2023), at Red's Donuts in Seaside... pretty soon we'll have tasted all the donut shops along the coast!
Furthermore, we'll follow up...
Nice video! By contrast, my install was much more "trial and error", but I did manage to get it done.
I eventually used a JCR camera relocation kit to ensure the camera's proper operation.
And a few weeks later:
Interesting first post! Looks like your ride's a close-twin to mine.
The published fording depth for a Badlands SAS is 33.5"; a 3-ft. deep mud pit would exceed that and cause you angst, I suppose. I've been in that mud/water hole before (in a different vehicle), and like you, had to reverse...
Just reminding everyone that Central Coast Broncos will have its inaugural meetup tomorrow in Santa Cruz, at Dunlap's Donuts, at 9 AM.
Bring yourself, friends, pets, and enjoy some delicious donuts and coffee - all while chatting "Bronco".
See you all there!
@Dusty at ICON Do the o-rings that seal each of the beadlock pins require replacement at prescribed intervals for continued failure-free service of the system? What is the estimated/tested life of the o-rings? Thanks.
The wheels look great on your rig.
Do you have a shot from the front/back, as I'd like to see how much the tires poke out (from SAS fender flares)? I'd like them NOT to so as to protect my door paint! What brand/model/size tires are those, btw? Thanks.
I lived in Escazu (outskirts of capitol city of San Jose) for 3.5 years as a kid, before emigrating to the States. Driving to Jaco (in a family friend's Chevy Nova - yeah, the big one, on nothing but dirt roads) was a real adventure back then (late '70s), but what a paradise Jaco was... and...
Is exactly what I'm planning to do - wear out my Territories then replace with 3-Peaks (or more Territories as they're cheap). Add a second set of wheels for M/Ts (undecided as to size, as 37s are that much more taxing on the rig in all sorts of ways, plus additional suspension-related expense).
@NorthShoreBronco @SnowBronco Thanks for your takes on 3-Peak A/Ts, and specifically the Toyo Open Country AT3; I've been eyeing the Falken Wildpeak AT3W - now I have another tire to consider.
@telenerd I'm likewise a fan of the factory Territories on my BadSquatch - they're great in the dry...
