  1. Pros / cons of a soft top versus hard top?

In general, yes a soft top is noisier(less sound proofing) and doesn’t hold in heat as well in winter(less insulation). But it’s mostly personally preference if you even notice those that much. Newer soft tops are a lot better, they aren’t usually as loose so don’t flap around, but you’ll still...
  2. 2.7L w/ manual trans (is Ford listening?)

True, but wranglers manual is on their V6 engine, and they have 3 engines but only one with manual. One upping them shoulda been Ford putting manuals on both their engines, or at least on the turbo 6 vs their NA 6.
  3. What do eco, sport and normal drive modes mean on a manual transmission?

There’s plenty of things other than just the shifts of the transmission that can be messed with for different modes. One of my motorcycles has 3 different “modes” you can choose, normal sport or tour. On it, for the most part it just adjusts the throttle response, sport making it snappier so...
  4. 2.7L w/ manual trans (is Ford listening?)

You’re taking the average of every single option, not what actually sold. No average corvette is anywhere near 140k, that would be a optioned zr1, and they only made 2500 c7 zr1s, and noway all of them had every option possible. They’re making 3x that of first edition broncos, which are more...
  5. 2.7L w/ manual trans (is Ford listening?)

2-3X price is funny. The first edition bronco costs 10k more than the base price of a c7 vette. Sure the highest optioned vette can top 100k+, but the ones they sell the most of are more like 70-80k give or take. Which is maybe double a base model bronco without too many options, but doesn’t...
  6. 2.7L w/ manual trans (is Ford listening?)

You know how many vehicles use the TR6060 transmission with different bellhousings and gear ratios and rear ends? Mustangs, vettes, vipers, camaros, challengers, and more. Yet it’s still just a tr6060. And the t56 before it was similarly used in multiple configurations across multiple vehicles...
  7. 2.7L w/ manual trans (is Ford listening?)

While I get your sentiment here, I do think they sell more than 30k a year total. The wrangler alone tends to have a lot higher percent manuals, not sure bout most recent years but it’s typically claimed to be around 15% and pretty steady. Production numbers for last few years are over 200k a...
  8. 2.7L w/ manual trans (is Ford listening?)

At this point yes there's a lot more involved. But they did RND a drivetrain to put a 7 speed manual with the 2.3l. They went thru the trouble and cost, and they knew they were putting 2 engines in the bronco as they were doing the RND for that at the same time. So if they were already putting...
  9. What colors do you wish to see for the Bronco in the future?

I think grabber blue is close enough that it and white two tone would look great next to my sky blue/pearl white Indian. Maybe even tan interior if the shade matched the Indian’s leather. Haven’t had the indian side by side with anything grabber blue so not sure it’s an exact match but it looks...
  10. Understanding the demographical Bronco buyer landscape: Manual v. Automatic Transmission

Thats true enough. And usually with excuses like "I can only have one vehicle" or "what about traffic" or "what about long trips" or "what if someone has to borrow it" But some(myself included) genuinely prefer manuals. All else equal I'll take the manual every time.
  11. Sign Petition for MANUAL transmission with V6 2.7 Ecoboost

If you don't manually shift the gear stick AND manually engage/disengage the clutch, it's not a manual(so basically an auto;)). Computer controlled is same thing as saying auto. Now whether you call it "semi-manual" or "semi-auto" when you have full control of one but not the other(like still...
  12. Understanding the demographical Bronco buyer landscape: Manual v. Automatic Transmission

Millennials that actually have a great interest in vehicles tend to like driving stick. Those that only see a car as means from A to B tend to not care or not know how. At least that's been my experience. And which do you rekon would be on this type of forum? lol. I was pretty much the only kid...
  13. Tow capacity will keep me from switching...

My point is 5k towing IS a decreased tow capacity based on others with the same wheelbase towing 8-9k and the ranger with the same platform towing 7.5k, so asking for 5k isn’t really asking for an increase, it’s already a decrease that should be plenty acceptable with the current setup, not for...
  14. Tow capacity will keep me from switching...

And 5000lb would actually be lower than a lot of new SUVs of similar size to the bronco. Haven't seen anybody asking the bronco to be able to tow 8000lbs, but when theres SUVs with the same wheelbase as the 4dr that can tow that much or more then its doesn't seem unreasonable for the bronco to...
  15. 2.7L w/ manual trans (is Ford listening?)

Yes enthusiast vehicles seem to have higher percent manuals sold vs other segments, which to me makes it all the more odd ford wouldn't come up with a manual for the 2.7 bronco. ZL1 Camaros actually sold more manuals than autos for the entire 5th gen. Mustangs sell more manuals in the higher...
  16. What interior best with Antimatter Blue?

Thought the velocity blue was the late availability color and antimatter blue would be available from start? Could be wrong, but def saw antimatter blue right away on fords site after launch, only saw anything about velocity blue later(still don't see velocity on the colorizer at all, just seen...
  17. 2.7L w/ manual trans (is Ford listening?)

I just hope they don’t do what many other manufacturers have done - offer manual only on the smallest/least powerful engine, then when people buy the bigger/more powerful engines say demand for the manual is too low to keep it up and stop making it. If you’d actually offer manuals on the bigger...
  18. That horrendous "sport" bar and b pillar on the 2 door.

Not trying to add any fuel, was genuine. I don’t care either way, roll bar looks fine to me. But think maybe I’ll hold up posting for the rest of the week til I’m back home. Can’t even keep up with post rate, time page loads already 3-4 more posts.
  19. That horrendous "sport" bar and b pillar on the 2 door.

Pretty much. Currently camping, bad service, somehow single button click turned into waaay too many posts, not sure what happened.
  20. That horrendous "sport" bar and b pillar on the 2 door.

I’m actually sorta surprised by some of the responses here. Especially since months ago there was speculation about the bronco having a removable roll cage due to ford filing of a patent for just that.
