I had modified the factory sub and installed a JL Audio 8w3v3. That driver is specified for 250W RMS.
Heavily damped the enclosure. It has a nice punch to it. The boomy peak that occurred stock is reduced but it still required a bit of tuning with the DSP to level it out.

FORD TSB: Improper trimming of finger nails can lead to interior damage.
Customers should be informed to trim their nails, cut their hair, wear a mask, and to take precautions when around vehicle surfaces containing plastic. For on-going protection, do not attempt to look at the plastic. Wear...
I believe that I'd seen a grommet but it may be just as sensible to route it from left to right under/along the dash stuff to the drivers side grommet. The battery is on that side anyhow.

In essence, these are waxes in a solvent that will...
They are not sealed. There is also a cutout directly below each speaker that has a loose and thin foamed plastic plug. Probably acts like a passive radiator.
You could probably seal the kick panels with the judicious application of CLD.
I have a mid-23 with the updated amplifier. I agree, it sounded good. Though, it remained a distance from sounding great.
I had this debate myself.
Coming from an old early 2K Tahoe, this system sounded fine and a definite improvement. It's good enough, I could live with this, I don't really...

For those with the DSP/sub and harnessing, it is not 100% plug and play but it's close. There is a t-harness at the ACM for the center channel...
