  1. 2 Doors and 3 Pedals

    Elephant Hill Road, Canyonlands NP
  2. Finally did it! 2-Dr Badlands in Eruption Green

    ā€œLooking good Billy Ray!ā€
  3. What made you choose Bronco over Jeep Wrangler?

I learned to drive on a ā€˜64 Willys, 2WD, 3 speed manual. It was a great ranch vehicle. As an adult, I’ve never had a craving to hardcore off-road and never truly had a second car/ā€œtoyā€ so to speak. With the kids grown, and my 200 series LandCruiser getting up in miles, I thought I might get an...
  4. Beachsquatch! Cruising the sand for the first time

I made that trek a year ago. It was enjoyable except for the considerable amount of trash that was washed up on shore and on the jetty at the end. Somebody asked how long is the national seashore. It’s 60 miles to the Mansfield Cut. If going all the way and back, make sure you start with a...
  5. ERUPTION GREEN Bronco Club

    Nice shot of Devil’s Tower.
  6. 2dr vs 4dr back seat

I’ve had a two door for about 14 months. If you need the back seat to haul anybody older than grade school children around on a regular basis, the two door is not a good option. As the occasional option for adults, I agree with the assessment that the seats/legroom are fine, but ingress/egress...
  7. Potential New Owner! Maybe...

If you love the rig, get it. Agree with extorting as much service/swag as possible in return for their $1000 extortion.
  8. 2,500 mile road trip with 2-Door Bronco experience: cargo space, fuel economy, issues

Heading to Moab in a week with my daughter who just graduated college. I’ve made a couple of Austin-CO road-trips already and looking forward to getting back to Moab…this time in the Bronco. I’m planning on doing Elephant Hill and White Rim Trail in the Needles and Islands in the Sky sections of...
  9. East Coast to Utah. Suggestions and tips please!

Drop down to Ocean City, MD and pick up US 50 East. You can take it almost all the way to the Pacific Ocean, as it stretches to Sacramento. It’s a mostly rural route and almost certainly the longest east-west US highway that isn’t an interstate. Starting in Kansas, you will parallel the...
  10. Hit by a Jeep running from police. Is this a total?

That sux. Glad nobody was hurt. The tailgate looks fine from my angle. I’d be worried about the rear axle.
  11. Badlands MSRP deal advice

I have had my Mansquatch Badlands 2 door, no other options, for over a year. I agree that you should offer no more than MSRP. Resale demand for a 4 door manual is probably softer than on a 2 door manual. It doesn’t help that the percentage of people who can drive a manual is decreasing...
  12. Front window rattles!

The adjustment to the set screws on the bottom of the doors works and is super easy. I wish I would have done it a year ago.
  13. Is the B&O really that bad?

I didn’t want all of the bells and whistles beyond the standard package and didn’t feel like spending $5K for the Bose. The base stereo is ok for quick jaunts around town, but pretty marginal when on the highway, even with a hardtop. Next week I’m having a Fosgate amp and JL 2-way speakers...
  14. 2 Door Heritage Bronco seen at Bronco Safari

That’s a high gloss finish on the top. Hopefully, it’s durable.
  15. Anyone keeping their Bronco completely stock? No mods at all?

IAG steps, front mud flaps and rear seat back carpet covers. Weather Tech mats. Aftermarket front license plate bracket. Otherwise, stock. Could see possibly upgrading tie rods and stereo in the future, but could just as easily pass.
  16. Anyone Running Just Front Mud Flaps?

    IAG fronts only. No regrets.
  17. Anyone actually get their $100 deposit back?

No. Dealer said I’d get the check back from Ford. 12 months later, I’m still waiting.
  18. New BaseSquatch Dies at 157 Miles - Needs New Auto Transmission

9000 miles. Just got back from second trip to CO in it (from Austin); my first winter trip in it. Drives amazingly well on the road with stock Squatch rubber. Some good wheeling last summer down Padre Island National Seashore and in CO (Ophir & Imogene Passes). About to make first oil change...
  19. I'm Sorry I Have to Vent and Ford You Won't Like This...

This rig was sadly not designed to have the fit and finish of an F-150 or an Explorer. It was designed to be capable off-road and to drive better on-road than a Wrangler. Sadly, Ford hasn’t prioritized the creature comforts that we take for granted in more mainstream vehicles. Currently...
