Iād go Everglades unless you feel like you have to have the 2.7.
Iām quite happy with the 2.3, but mine is a 2 door with a stick.
If possible, try to drive a 2.3 and a 2.7 before deciding.
There are set screws on the bottom of the door. Tighten those up to decrease (but wonāt eliminate )window rattling and should decrease the window popping out at high speed in windy conditions.
At least it worked for me.
ā22 Bad Mansquatch 2 door. 14K miles.
Rusty trail site bolts and light switch gremlin are the only issues, but if nothing else pops up, Iām not taking it to the dealer until the warranty is nearly out. I tightened the windows myself.
The interior materials and dash layout are disappointing, but...
Iāve had a ā13 Land Cruiser since new, now with 175K miles, and a ā22 Badlands 2 door Mansquatch since 3/22 with 14K miles. The former has been my daily driver and the latter my toy. Iāve made 3 wonderful treks to CO/UT from TX in the Bronco and have not had any problems.
But if the car in...
Yes. Itās a great road. The Needles district of Canyonlands is about an hour from Moab. The road is permit only and limited to 20 āday permitsā per day, although if you are camping and have a multi-day permit, this will give you access, as well. You will need an early start. I recommend taking...
Crowds become even less desirable as we age.
In September, on a trek in the west, I did a nice hike in Great Basin NP. It was wonderful and memorable partly by the dearth of people in this lonely spot.
A couple of days later, with my son, we hiked in Yosemite to the top of Nevada Falls. The...
My daughter and I road-tripped to Moab after her college graduation last summer. We have been on many great trips together over the years, but our days together in Canyonlands on Elephant Hill Road and White Rim Trail will undoubtedly be some of my fondest memories. She learned how to be a...
Unable to find a picture, but check out the old (1969) Redford movie, āDownhill Racer.ā
Although the starring car is a 911, there is a training scene that features a Bronco.
Pretty good flick.
Unfortunately, my marathoning days are behind me. But I did hike S. Kaibab down and back one Summer morning. That was about as tough as any of the 10 marathons I did.
R2R2R is next level. Awesome run and time!
Iāve been on somewhat of a National Parksā vision quest for the last five years and have now been to 47 out of our 63 NPs. Iāve managed to get to all of the parks in the lower 48, west of the Mississippi.
The west offers a lot of bang for the buck and I re-visited 7 parks in June with my...
ā22 2door BL Mansquatch. 14K miles. 3 Badge of Honor trails, 7 National Parks and one National Seashore. No problems, other than a possessed light switch. I did upgrade the base stereo. Instrument panel is silly and the interior plastics are horrible, but itās been a lot of fun.
The tie rods/steering rack issue has been the design flaw that shouldāve been addressed sooner. Iām still confused as to why the 3.0 rack/rods were only available on the WildTrack and not the designated rock-hopper, Badlands model.
I have a ā22 Badlands Sasquatch and have driven some relatively...
