differential clutch.... outside of tolerance....
But, I don't know anything about the Ford e-locker. What you are describing is typical of a limited slip differential clunk. the e locker is likely magnetic and might not even have a clutch. Assuming it did, it clunks when it engages/disengages...
8/1 Badlands build. Modules popped with tag overnight. I was a just about last in line for 8/1.
Now is the big unknown as I await rail delivery... Living in choo-choo city Chattanooga, it doesn't surprise me that its arriving by rail. I actually considered going down and watching them get...
We are all buying, basically, a first year vehicle... with problems and growing pains. Knowing that, I'll likely keep it 4 years or 150,000 miles, which ever comes first. Hopefully, in that 4 years, Ford's Solid State battery tech is in their vehicles... and if so, that's what I'll replace it...
Ever seen an unmolested sign in the wilderness??? I think its a rite-of-passage for some peeps to put bullet holes in anything man made in the wilderness. Only a matter to time before these solar panels are riddled with bullet holes...
In the spirit of keeping our national parks natural... I...
Love the LIteBright crew, but don't ever ride with them. Those guys go through equipment like its disposable.... Everyone's truck gets damaged on their epic outings.
I've seen a professional Baja racer use TTA at high speeds. (Will not disclose which Bronco-Rodeo venue he works at...) He said it take 3 conditions to engage it. Hero switch; Wheel at lock; and acceleration.
THis guys would come drifting out of a turn at high speed (on dirt) and then turn to...
IMHO, I wouldn't be too worried about this announcement.
Plant Managers are essentially in charge of "operations". They manage everything within their walls.
Not Procurement or supplier negotiations, not design, not development, not marketing, and not transportation, All that is run by the...
Yesterday was a beautiful summer day in TN. Don't have my Bronco yet but put a couple hundred on my adventure bike taking in mountain roads and sights. I noticed countless jeeps with "doors off".
On a break I looked up my local laws on "doors off" and found that its really on the state of Penn...
This is a hard pill to swallow for me...
I'll be moving to a vehicle that is significantly slower than my current Ford Explorer...
I guess, once I trade in for the Bronco, I'll need to get used to starting every sentence with: "Yeah, but what about that time I went off-road...."
Updated the 8/1 build date spreadsheet w/ my info.
After seeing all the "bumping" in this thread, I'm hoping it holds.... and really hoping to meet a Labor Day -ish delivery. That will leave some "top and doors off" cruising and play time in the warm months for TN, GA, and Florida...
Excellent article. Being a mere two hours from Windrock, sadly, I've never been.
He's right about these mountains being a rainforest, at least, at this time of year.
I'll take the Badlands there in the dryer winter months.
Ford sells a "day of purchase" glass warranty. Its not part of their Premium Care. Its a separate policy. Free replacement for 7 years.
Not sure if there is a way to mitigate the actual day to day driving damage. But, there is a way to mitigate the cost of replacement. Sounds like glass chips...
Backdoor link: Scheduled today for Aug 1 build!
7/23/2020 reservation. Was about 51st at my dealer in 2021 (when builds first began). About 30th at my dealer at end of 2021 and 8th about a week ago.
Badlands, chili pepper, Sas, Lux, trailer, (changed to softtop in Feb 2022)
My Credit Union rate on new car purchase is still 1.99%.
How did I become a member of that CU??? When I bought a car at a Ford dealer years ago, the finance manager opened the account for me with a $25 deposit.... No other credentials were needed. I've joined several CU's over the years to get...
Change the model to fit the budget and upgrade parts as the budget allows. Most can't tell what model you are driving... The Bronco, unlike Jeep, doesn't scribe the model in huge letters on the hood. Bronco's badging is so subtle I often struggle to tell which model I see when passing on the...
Meanwhile... back on topic.... It was actually a nice recovery. We all know the tie-rod is a weak link and they even mentioned it on the ride out saying the parts are back ordered. Thus, you can't carry an extra while out wheeling. It was a great field recovery from wiring up to vehicles in...
No brainer... release the vehicles.
A seat heater is not gonna do anything to fix how cold my wife is... Yeah, i meant that just like you read it....Besides, Spring is around the corner and if I need to heat up her ass, the aftermarket sells seat heaters for $50... Serious, they are reliable...
