  1. Change oil soon light on at 1,600 miles

Yes, the one year age triggered it. Probably a good idea to change it regardless of the mileage
  2. Break-In Period?

I kept the rpm under 3k for the first 500. Just drove it normal, no hard braking or acceleration. Did vary the rpm driving back roads and generally took it easy the first 1k.
  3. 2.3L Bronco completely dead

IMHO the electronics need to be scaled back in these vehicles. I know it’s not going to happen but they need to knock the nanny shit off and keep to the basics for an off road ready vehicle.
  4. What Made You Choose Your Car?

I’ve got the Bronco, but haven’t got the challenger yet. 392 with the shaker hood would be nice. Had the old mopars in high school and a few years after. Now those old cars would add up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. I don’t think I paid over $800 dollars for any of them at the time.
  5. Failed software update, unable to start vehicle!

I haven’t connected my phone to the Bronco, but my wife may have connected her phone when we first got it. Every time I start the vehicle I get a message to the effect “ phone failed to connect”.
  6. Bitter cold and 4H

Tires could have froze to the ground also.
  7. Top-off / topless etiquette and best practices

Speaking of lightning, I know a soft top doesn’t protect, but does the fiberglass top offer protection from lightning strikes?
  8. What’s in your garage???

    Some really nice rides.
  9. Get your brand new ride detailed ASAP!

I’ve had mine for almost 14 months, I can remember washing it once. The rain has done a fantastic job of keeping the big chunks off. The dealer put some magic potion paint protection on and it really does a good job shedding the grime when it rains. I drive a lot of gravel and the wind is always...
  10. Lost Coast Trail (NorCal) Attempt

    Absolutely beautiful!
  11. Failed software update, unable to start vehicle!

It’s a brave, new techno world and this is a large scale engineering science project. More to come.
  12. Locking bolts for the spare wheel?

If I felt the need I would throw on a cable and padlock. Actually I worry more about catalytic converter theft.
  13. The main benefit of premium gas is…

Does it get much greener than recycling dead dinosaurs and swamp grass?
  14. NEW: B&M Precision Manual Sportshifter

Hmmm, do I need a longer shaft or not?
  15. How to never miss a OTA software update! [Instructions]

I love my bronco, I love driving it, I’ve loved the concept… But, the longer I have it the more I appreciate my 20+ years older low tech vehicles. I know the younger crowd readily embraces the technology, great when it works, really frustrating when it doesn’t. But when you’ve lived the majority...
  16. Do I need Advanced 4wd (4A)?

You may not “need” 4A, but it sure is nice. My BL has been in 4A the last couple of months. Driving conditions a lot of times is scattered slippery and dry patches where it would be impracticable to switch in and out of 4WD. I’ve been impressed with the 4A system, probably makes me think my BFG...
  17. Safelite Windshield Replacement Leads To Worse Damage

Safelite uses Chinese manufactured glass from Fuyao who has their own glass manufacturing plant in the US as well as China. For this reason alone I prefer not to use them.
  18. Finally arrived. Seems like a lot for 35k

So how much $ does ford have into it? 50% of msrp?
  19. Anyone else's windshield super pitted?

I’ve wondered how thin the bronco windshield is? It sure looks thin once you get a crack. I was painfully cautious about doing all I could to avoid rock chips, but to no avail, my windshield is now properly stress relieved with numerous chips and a 4 foot crack. Feels good not to care about...
