I joined the Mustang club for the X-Plan, but this morning I ended up putting a significant amount into the stock anyway. I won't regret the $25 for the club no matter what, but I hope I don't regret the larger amount for the stock! lol
As a 28-year veteran of software development, I have to say some of the "features" I see in modern cars are very annoying. For example, doing much of anything with your GPS is forbidden while driving. This is one of the reasons I was glad to buy a Wrangler with a base audio system and install...
Yeah, it doesn't really help you much on the base, but it does all the other packages.
I'm assuming the X-Plan doesn't affect package pricing at all, and what you see on the spreadsheet is all you save.
From another web page:
The X-Plan is actually two programs that equate to a discount for friends, family, and groups with special affiliations with Ford.
The Ford Partner Recognition X-Plan is essentially a supplier discount that members of certain companies that do business with Ford may...
I chose the Outer Banks. For the minor off-road use mine will receive (an occasional creek bed in WV), any Bronco will do just fine. But this vehicle will be my DD as well, and will be used for long distance travel on a regular basis. I'll be getting the Lux package so it will be as...
Software developer here. I used to manage IT, but got burned out and returned to development. 15 months from retirement, but I love what I do and will probably continue to write code.
I thought a PHEV was the same as an EV. Guess I don't know the difference. I was asking about (hoping for) a fully electric plug-in Bronco.
Edit: But I'd take a plug-in hybrid, too!
Question about leaks you've seen about it... was it for a hybrid or an EV, or is it impossible to tell at this point? There's a big difference. I have heard about a possible hybrid. Nothing about an EV.
I take part of this back... I wonder if this COVID19 crap will still be going on. I've got two friends with it and it's nasty as hell. Might be worth losing $800-$900 to avoid the risk of a plane ride.
I'm flying there ($165) and driving back same day. Little bit of gas (maybe $100-$150?) and I'm all up for saving that $1000 under invoice. The drive will be *fun*!
Hey kwalt21, who is that powertrain warranty through? That's definitely a buying factor for me, as I plan to keep the Bronco long-term. Well, the rest of my life actually, as I'm retiring in 16 months. :)
You're right. Not sure what I was thinking when I typed that. lol
I still like having the option, though. Just in case something goes wrong with the Iowa dealership, there is a local dealership that accepts X Plan.
Ahh, my bad. I see. Thanks, EvlNvrDys!
Tell me if I'm wrong, but X Plan seems like an even better deal that the $1000 off invoice. My understanding is that X Plan pricing is:
Invoice - 0.4% + $275 program fee
Is that right?
Got the first one for Indiana--it's formally in Indiana, but is right beside the Louisville, Kentucky area.
Jim O'Neal Ford
516 S Indiana Ave
Sellersburg, IN 47172
Accepts all Ford Plans (A, X, D, Z).
Doc fee: $75
No other fees
I actually have a dealership about an hour away that will accept X Plan, but I don't have it currently. Someone mentioned the Mustang club, another person mentioned buying Ford stock and then waiting 60 days. Are these valid ways to qualify, and is there an even easier way? Seems like joining...
