Gratz, man. I will be doing the same thing. We outta have lunch before heading out for the loooong drive. lol
Edit: Assuming we pick up same day, that is.
Could I afford a $10k markup? Sure. Would I ever pay it? Not under any circumstances. There are other options out there, and I would consider that a considerable insult for a dealer to think I am a sucker for him to make an *extra* $10,000 off of. No way. Not to mention, it sets a bad...
I actually spoke to Laserdoc this morning. He was kind enough to answer some questions for me about a particular dealer. I don't believe he is a dealer himself. Look at his handle--he's probably an optometrist. Very nice guy.
Sure. Shipping might be $500-$700, or a plane ticket is about $165 (I just checked), but we're talking about $1000 under invoice. Easy call for me, personally.
Good luck.
Man, if I were you, I'd just order from Granger and have it shipped (or fly out and enjoy the drive home in your new Bronco). You're going to beat the pants off of any price that dealer gives you even with shipping or flight expenses.
I'll be honest, I usually buy used to avoid dealing with... dealers. I really don't see how they can pull much, except maybe at the finance office, and I'll have the finance side of it sewn up as soon as they give me a VIN. I'll go ahead and Google "high volume dealership tactics" in order to...
Even MSRP makes it a little iffy for me. I feel that after the hype dies down, there will be deals to be found. And then there will be used models for sale as well.
Nah, you're right, I don't. I'm going to follow y'alls advice and either get a short body lift or maybe just squeeze 33" tires on there. Thank you guys!
Okay, so I feel incredibly stupid for having to ask this question, but I think (hope!) you guys will be kind. :)
So I don't want to pay for the Sasquatch package, and my Outer Banks model will be just a DD and street queen. A little creek bed in WV is about all the action she's ever going to...
What is it about the base model that you don't like?
As far as putting money towards retirement, I totally sympathize! I may actually have to work an extra year or two if I make this purchase. I'm getting too close. lol
Huh. I didn't even know Ford.com had dealership ratings, but when I read your comment I looked them up. However, to counterpoint my own point, I looked up 5 dealers including one I recently had a bad experience with, and they were all 5-star or nearly 5-star ratings. So who knows how much...
I'm just going on what I have available to me. If they don't give me the promised deal when the time comes, I won't buy from them. It really can't go very wrong. However, I think they'll probably honor it. They have a web page up showing the $1000 under invoice and everyone here knows what...
