Sad fact is that I did RTFM first... and I had anti-seize! and I even had fitting non-locknuts to use for playing around on the bench which is actually what I used for all the pre-adjustments. A big 'doh' moment for me. Got the nut off, but the nut and bolt were damaged (1 set). Thanks...
I made same mistake. Never had a locknut seize on me before. Instructions clearly called for anti-seize. I was just playing around on the bench when it happened to me. 4X4TruckLED guys took care of me.
I list my location as Pentwater, MI because we have a cabin there. But I live in Birmingham... same salt as you. Lots of back and forth from the West side of state though... only difference is the addition of sand to the salt mix there. My office is also in downtown Detroit, but I've been...
I have a 2008 Ford Explorer with over 200,000 miles. I bought it new. Never rust-proofed it. It has held up extremely well
Thanks. I've been wondering if I should do this. I have a 2008 Ford Explorer with over 200,000 miles. Never parked in a garage. 100% of it's life spent in Michigan...
Thanks. I like the look too. It took a little while to adjust them on the bracket and in the pocket, but I'm happy how it turned out. Make sure you use anti-seize on the bracket bolts -- I locked one up just playing around on the bench. I knew better, but I've never actually had one seize on...

Very sorry to hear. I hope it gets fixed perfectly for you. My Bronco is also my favorite car ever (and I have had a LOT of them). Also with a home base in Michigan, it makes me wonder about my own tires. I've spent a significant time in my career working on anti-lock brakes, but I have...
Thanks. I haven't gone anywhere really remote yet. Just checked my actual mileage. I'm at 5614, so we'll see. I'll just share how it's doing over time I guess. Fingers crossed.
Yes. Thanks. Figured that out. I've got over 5000 miles. Do you know if this is an "infant mortality" problem? That is, if it's going to fail it will fail with early miles? Any early warning signs or the valve just drops into the cylinder at some random point?
Do they have a terminal block set up, or just connectors. If just connectors, how easy is it to move pins around in the connector? My experience is that once a crimped pin is in the connector shell, it's not going to come out without damaging it.
Hmm... I purchased them back on Cyber Monday and recall being able to select each of the 3 lights. Note that I ordered the 4x4TruckLED pocket kit, not the BD or DD pocket kits. I have the KR bracket that comes with 4x4TruckLED pocket kit. I think you can even mix/match between BD and DD...
