90s rally racing. The most iconic use probably being Subarus in 'World Rally Blue' with yellow liveries and bronze wheels.
That's why I love them, anyway.
IMO, no. But I've found opinions vary wildly on here, when it comes to 4 Auto.
I've traveled and commuted in harsh winters my entire adult life- when I've needed 4WD, I use it. When I don't, I don't. Unless you just can't live without the set-and-forget convenience, I definitely wouldn't feel...
I've driven on sand dunes with much smaller tires.
In the event it's really soft/loose sand, the best performance improvement comes from simply airing way down.
People look at me like I just kicked their dog when I say I prefer cloth seats.
I've had plenty of 15-20 year old vehicles with perfect looking cloth. Conversely I've never seen a daily driven vehicle of that age with leather that wasn't trashed.
I noticed this. My theory was that it's electronically limiting boost and pulling timing when in first gear, in order to protect the transmission and/or driveline.
From Zach at Granger's thread, discussing this-
Unless something changes, even the higher estimate of filling 20% of orders in 2022 is going to mean a LONG wait for a lot of Granger customers.
A JL Rubicon is really the only other thing out there with similar capability, offered in 2-door flavor, and offered with a manual.
I still think I'm going to wait. But if I jump ship, it's for that.
Same.
I'm willing to wait, willing to completely forego a Bronco and get something else, etc. But doing any kind of ADM or shadetree dealer games on what's nothing more than a stupid toy that I don't need? Won't happen.
I really feel for the people that were counting on a daily driver showing...
We very much appreciate the transparency. I have some thinking to do.
I have a Badlands order and I just spent 2,500 miles wheeling/highway cruising in Utah in a 2021 JLUR. The Rubicon is obscenely capable and I now know that I certainly wouldn't be disappointed in one.
My main beefs with the...
I agree it's absolutely not worth most people's time to do their own oil changes (disposal alone is a PITA).
The only reason I do it myself is to prevent idiocy like torqueing a drain plug to 140 ft lbs, rounding the plug, ruining a pan by cross-threading, starting the vehicle without oil, etc...
Hill start assist does apply brakes for you, which are released the instant you start engaging the clutch. It's something the vast majority of manual vehicles produced in the last decade will do (I can't actually think of any modern vehicle I've driven that does not do this).
No idea if it can...
Given that the Bronco does the Mustang thing (automatically 'assisting' you with throttle when the clutch is engaged from a stop), I found it was nearly impossible to stall unless you just completely dumped the clutch with zero throttle input (I didn't drive it on a 25% grade, however).
I'd...
There is no shortage of people who will pay over MSRP for your build.
You'll have to decide how important getting under MSRP is to you. The dealer does not care *at all* if you walk away.
Gen2 Raptor is great answer! I agree with you, that vehicle turns 35s very well.
If a $70,000 pickup making 510lb ft of torque is what produces adequate straight line performance with 35s for you, then I'd agree the Bronco is definitely not going to satisfy.
I continue to learn a lot about...
