I'm on top #3. The dealership told me that since I'm now out of my warrantee, any new top paid for by ford would need to be within a year install. Last one lasted 14 months.
I would say they are strong. this one took a rollover. If my Raptor liner fails, I am going with an Armadillo.
My 22 Bronco Badlands is always in the garage, no cracks. I would definitely say that has to help with the cracking issues.
This Raptor liner job came out great!I Raptor liner’ed my top my self. I thought it would look totally different than the mic with the texture and being black. I really don’t notice it and most folks I have to tell them it is different than stock.
But I am surprised how much that rear section where the hinges attach flexes when closing the rear glass.
How do you quantify...strong. It's not like that aluminum roof did anything the mic wouldn't do in that situation. Barely stay together while the roll bars support the vehicle.
Easier to quantify...weak. Cracked before any roll situation.
All I did was clean it with acetone really well then wiped it down with Alcohol. It is a kit I got off of Amazon it is actually called custom coat but same maker as the Raptor liner stuff. Comes with a gun to spray it with too. I used three cans of the four in the kit. I applied it a couple months ago. But I used the same stuff on my teardrop build several years ago and that has held up well. You can adjust the texture by turning up the pressure and the distance you shoot it.

When the 5th gen 4Runner came out this was a problem for many owners. It seems the vast majority of the problems was putting tint on the sunroof. Something to do with extra heat build up in the glass if I recall. Just something to think about.
