Hello all! I know it is one of the must have upgrades in the past for turbocharged cars
Unsure if they are still worthwhile with modern tech. If so, any suggestions for anyone?
Choices are numerous between OEM, mishimoto dual valve, UPR dual, IAG, J&L, Corsa, K&N etc, prices varies a pretty big range too.
Would appreciate any feedback to help make an educated decision!

Thanks

I run the Corsa and it catches enough to justify having it. I think this was around 3K miles of driving over the previous year.

So what's in the cup? Oil? Water? Bug Juice? If water (which I doubt) it would have eventually evaporated. If oil, is it enough to affect lubrication? Just because it trapped something, doesn't mean what was trapped is harmful to your engine. It just means the separator separated something from air.

Not sure why you would doubt some of it is water. Moisture is a common thing in engines.

It’s a mixture of oil vapor, fuel vapor and moisture.

Water is only going to evaporate if the engine gets hot enough on a long drive.

Fuel dilution is also a huge issue with all ecoboosts, which this can help mitigate.

If the catch can didn’t catch all that, it would just go right back into your charge pipes, turbos, intercooler, throttle body, intake, combustion chamber.

If you’ve ever worked some ecoboosts, it really starts to build up over time. You can pull an intercooler tube and all that stuff will just start dumping out.

I plan to get one for my 2.3L.

At the very least it can't do any harm (as long as it is emptied regularly) and it may improve longevity of the engine. I hope to keep my new Bronco until the wheels fall off.

I have a k&n catch can on my wife's 2.7 bronco. I do 5000 mile oil changes and I get about a teaspoon of oil at every oil change during hot weather. I get about 2 or a little more teaspoons during the winter, and it doesn't get super cold down here in South Louisiana

Is the injection different on a 2025, 26, 27?

How does this increase engine life beyond a very standard 200,000 miles?

I'm all in for one if a value can be ascertained.
