This reads like real dog water, but I can agree with one core concept - this is gonna be a fun one for service departments.
Also this bit, good to note for those do-it-yourself fixers:

”… insurers increasingly cross-reference VINs against open recalls during underwriting and claims review, and a documented, ignored recall notice is not a detail you want attached to your file if the worst happens.”

This recall was not listed in the Ford app this morning, but did show up as an active recall, as of mid-afternoon today.

This is a little bigger deal (significance wise and numerically speaking) than the seat bolt deal, so it may take a while .... like the rest of the calendar year .... to disposition over 500K vehicles.

Hoping I don't go down in flames before then. 😉

I also tried peppermint oil. It smelled like Christmas for a long while - but didn’t work either.

Haven’t tried any electric gizmos yet. Popping the hood helps but they still get in under the body.

I have three cats. They catch mice every now and then - but there are to many acorns I don’t know that 20 cats could keep up with them
There’s only one thing that can really solve this: put the pants down and rinse the engine bay and cabin air filter with your God’s given coolant, gentlemen. Show em rodents who the real apex is!

…it say's, "The remedy is anticipated to be available by July 31, 2026" that looks like fast turn around if they have the parts.
Zip ties are plentiful and cheap. 😆

I checked the passenger side of my Raptor just to see if I could find any spots that looked suspect. I found three spots, two of which I was able to reach and put some temporary plastic wire loom as protection until the recall is fixed. The 3rd I cannot reach without unbolting the fender or mirror cowling. You can see in the last picture up by the hood hinge way back deep. There's a spot that could rub now. I don't know if these spots are going to have any engine vibration since they're anchored in at different points, but these could be the areas all the same since they are touching a sharp metal edge.

I did this too last night. It’s that first one that’s most suspect to me, as the harness touches the bent metal edge. The edge isn’t sharp, but it’s not curved or blunt either. My OEM wrap doesn’t show any wear, but it’s not hard to imagine some occurring after +30,000 miles.

I get letters for the recalls and letters after a software update is successful.

What a lot of people forget, a lot of us, take our bronco take on rough rock crawling and hard Baja driving, Ford said looks like only effecting 2 percent of the half a million Bronco sold from launch. I wonder how much of the wire rubbing is caused by hard off-road driving? I don't think the rubbing is coming from grandma going to church on Sunday. The media and trolls love to make it look like all Bronco's are going to catch on fire, which I think is false.

You see Brand New Toyota TRD trucks having problems with transmissions with 50 miles, but you barely hear a peep, like they are a god of truck building.

Ford will have the new protective wrap and anti-rubbing tape soon, so don't let the trolls make you think differently. I just hit 23000 miles without a single problem and the engine is running like brand new.

There are two types of God's given coolant in me. Which one do you suggest I should use?

Generally recommended to start with the less viscous one as you will cover more ground, but if that yields little to no effect then you gotta whip out the other one and really show them who’s boss

It could be more like 0.0027% (15 out of 560,000 has been mentioned) of the trucks had the defect and I would not be surprised if a smaller number than 15 resulted in catastrophic fire.

Still, if you happen to be one of those 2.7 folks out of 100,000 folks that have a blazing saddle, you're pretty frickin bummed out by it.
