Has anyone installed the OEM Slide-Out Tailgate with a Sasquatch package?

I have a 2026 Outer Banks 4-door with the Sasquatch package. Ford says the OEM Slide-Out Tailgate (N2DZ-99402K19-AB) isn’t compatible. Before I spend $1,000, I’d like to know if anyone with a 2026 Sasquatch has successfully installed it. Pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any pictures at the moment but I installed one on my 2024 4 door Badlands with Sas. Pretty straight forward install. I'm not aware why it wouldn't fit with a 2026 model

Edit: fit should be fine but this is what I found -

The incompatibility listed on the page is due to Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) limits imposed by Ford during factory configuration, rather than an actual physical fitment issue.
Because the Sasquatch Package adds significant weight (larger 35-inch tires, heavier wheels, and upgraded suspension components), adding the heavy steel slide-out tailgate from the factory pushes certain mid-tier trims (like the Big Bend or Outer Banks) over Ford's strict weight management thresholds for shipping and emissions.

This is all very strange. I’m pretty sure the Everglades came standard with both the Sasquatch and slide out. Mine has both.

Maybe try swapping a friends tailgate onto yours temporarily to test fit. It should only be a few bolts.

But the Everglades only came with a 2.3, sounds funny but I think that makes the difference in the GVWR.
Same issue comes up with the roof rack.

I just installed one I got off someone on FB Marketplace, it took like 20 min to put in. Only thing I need to get is the lower trim piece, but I struck gold getting it for $300 without that.

That’s a good point, I’ve heard two theories about why the Everglades only had the 2.3 and GVWR is one of em.

My ‘25 HE (SAS) came with it. Don’t remember if it was dealer installed or factory but all the dealer’s HEs came optioned with that, the roof rack, and tow package.

Thanks! It's good to know it worked for you.

So it's steel? I just always thought it was a type of polymer .

Ford's strict weight management thresholds for shipping and emissions.
Good find on digging that up. That's an obscure reason.

Weight management - brought to you by the company that created the Excursion and Lincoln Continental.

It's not steel. It's cast aluminum and made by Multimatic. Quality piece. It was available on my 24 WildTrak but would be removed if I also optioned for the full steel bash plates. It was a Ford imposed weight restriction. It's a $600 factory installed option but I had to accept a plastic rear bumper and partial skid plates to get it. Take off skid plates and factory steel bumpers are usually a bargain, especially when the tailgate from Ford Parts is $1,400! My buddy ordered and installed one on his Raptor Bronco. It fit like a glove. You'll love it and it will fit your Bronco seamlessly.
