What Percentage of Owners Off-Road?!

One of the things that entertains and frustrates me is how a lot of forum members seem to not appreciate how different the demographic is here, on this forum, versus the average mainstream Bronco owner. (So folks here are always, amusingly, asking for Ford to do things that most mainstream buyers would *never* want, that are strictly enthusiast options — but in their defense, it’s amazing that Ford actually made a Bronco with a snorkel and still makes a 2DR. We’re lucky.) People who take their Jeep or Bronco off-road are actually a very small percentage of buyers, perhaps as low as 10% (according to Google searched stats). I’m wondering how that compares to the population here. Vote!

We've been on the Sonoran Desert a couple of years ago and probably will go again. What we need a Bronco for is our half mile crushed rock driveway through some deep woods. In the Winter the snow gets pretty deep and until I get it plowed we need four wheel drive and high clearance to get in and out in an emergency.

I'd bet the poll won't even be accurate for this site, because those of us who do wheel, also participate more here. The site, wheeling, and modifying our rigs are a much bigger part of what we do, so we're checking the site multiple times a day. The other 80% or so who don't wheel, likely won't see this poll either...

I think those who do participate mostly know we're in a bit of an echo chamber here, but will still bemoan that Ford isn't selling the right product, but we really know it's Ford following the real market..

Now the ones who say a green, two door, fixed hardtop, V8 would be the best selling bronco ever? Those guys are just delusional...

I feel the results will be skewed. I'm sure a good portion of us on this forum do wheel and are nerds about new products or like to read about those suspension deep dives and other stuff.
The Scottsdale blonde driving her Braptor to Starbucks and pilates won't be scouring the forums for the latest in control arms and such.

Trying to find off-roading in the poll, as of frozen lakes, or in deep snow.....nothing. Does now, off-roading simple mean driving the same roads a million other people have done? Is this off-roading:

For me, the Bronco is my daily and my only vehicle. I'd rather not FAFO and create a headache in my life. That being said, I knew that I wouldn't be doing too much off roading so I only got the Big Bend with Black Diamond Package. Any light trails I decide to tackle should be no problem. Even that would only be around 2-3 times a year.

There’s definitely a higher percentage of folks who actually wheel their Broncos here than any other Broncos group or forum I’ve been on. And the technical information is way better here with actual Ford line mechanics and hard core off-roaders as members.

I gave up “wheeling“ 20-30 years ago (old & sick). I bought the bronco to get back out there some in my old age and it has done it…not like the old days but when I can…heading through rubicon next month (I hope)….

I'm curious, did you go to an Off Rodeo? It's a great confidence builder, educates you on the vehicle and helps you understand how not to get into the FA phase of FAFO. I'd bet for a lot of Bronco owners it's their daily driver. Raptor owners excepted of course....

One of our favorite things to do with the Bronco is to discover interesting things to see that require an off-road vehicle like the Bronco to get to. The sights and sites are the reward for the adventure. The journey would be considered moderate off-roading. But I still do advanced trails. I draw the line at body damage, though.

I'd bet the percentage of Raptor owners that go offroad is a lot smaller than Bronco owners.
