You have adaptive cruise control? Ford has speed sign recognition and posts the speed limit to the dashboard cluster and can adapt your adaptive cruise control. There’s a camera just below the rear view mirror that looks for the signs. There was a disable option in the settings.
Bronco doesn’t have that technology. Only some Fords use the camera for sign recognition.

I have to say I like having the speed limit there - and it seems to be right for me 90+% of the time. My last car had a heads up display that included it along with current speed.....it was harder to see and not always displayed. The old car also had it at 2 o'clock just outside the main tach/gauge display

At least with the Bronco I feel like I can find it with a quick glance a little easier....since it is right in line with the digital speedometer (I never look at the trash analog gauge). Capt Obvious here to say teach them to practice quick gauge checks without dwelling......

After they get their license they forget all about the speed icon on the dash. Just like the turn signal switch. Texting overrides any component of a vehicle anyway.
She won’t be texting while driving. She leaves for college next week and won’t have a car there (she will be on the other side of the country). She has her drivers test tomorrow.

New roads and construction is about the only time mine is wrong. Pretty accurate in Louisville anyways.

Has anyone definitively been able to turn this off? I'm going to make a change with Forscan soon and would love to get rid of this for good - around me it is wrong 90% of the time, and for anyone that thinks it uses cameras - it doesn't. I once counted 13 speed limit signs that I passed that were all different and the speed limit on the dash never changed. Pretty sad that 5 years before the Bronco I bought a Mazda CX-5 for half the price that had a real tach, a HUD, and took pictures of the speed limit displayed in the HUD, it even would display stop signs as you approached one!
